  2. 'You need to have qualities' to reach the levels Moyes has in his careerpublished at 15:12 GMT 31 October

Sunderland v Everton (Mon, 20:00 GMT)

    Sunderland

Sunderland manager Regis le Bris on opponents Everton under David Moyes: "They are good. They are a bit inconsistent but with the ability to score and to win against everyone, I think. There is an evolution in their squad so it is still tough to match new players with a different style of play within a creative project but they are doing well."

On Moyes' struggles during his time as a manager at Sunderland: "As a manager you can struggle. You have different contexts every moment in your life. Sometimes you have successes and sometimes you struggle and have to deal with different challenges. From his background and career, if you stay at that level you need to have qualities and I think that is the case."

  3. Moyes hopes all will be okay for trip to Sunderlandpublished at 15:08 GMT 31 October

Sunderland v Everton (Mon, 20:00 GMT)

    Everton

Everton boss David Moyes provided a team news update ahead of Monday's match against Sunderland: "Nathan Patterson has had a procedure on his groin so he won't be available for this game.

"There's a couple of knocks and bruises [from the Tottenham defeat] but hopefully we will all be okay."

Everton boss David Moyes will return to Sunderland for the first time as a manager since he left the Stadium of Light in 2017.

He spoke fondly of the time in the North East in today's news conference: "I had a really good time and I loved being up there. It was a good club, but maybe at the time we were on the back end of a difficult period."

He was asked if it was 'right club, wrong time' with the Black Cats: "I think it was possibly. In management you have to experience different opportunities and unfortunately we didn't get things going. I look back with disappointment but Sunderland and I have both moved on since then."

  5. 'Pereira's position is safe for now'published at 14:57 GMT 31 October

Fulham v Wolves (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Nick Mashiter
    BBC Sport football news reporter

It is rare to go into a press conference with a club bottom of the table and not discuss the manager's future but Vitor Pereira's position is safe for now.

He retains the backing of the club despite failing to win any of their opening nine Premier League games this season, leaving them bottom and six points from the safety line.

Wolves are reluctant to make a change as the hierarchy can see the improvement in the performances as their summer signings adapt to the top flight and believe history is on their side as evidence they can pull off another escape.

Last season they did not win any of their first 10 matches but after Pereira replaced Gary O'Neil in December he steered them to 16th and safety.

Pereira - who had a heated discussion with fans after Sunday's 3-2 defeat to Burnley - remains confident he can do so again.

  6. 'Van de Ven is doing better and better'published at 14:51 GMT 31 October

Tottenham v Chelsea (Sat, 17:30 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs boss Thomas Frank on Micky van de Ven's form, after the defender scored two goals in last weekend's win over Everton:

"Every defender needs to be good in defence and attack.

"He is very good on the ball, good composure, his pace is quite unique.

"The cool defending in the decisive moments he is doing better and better. He is ticking a lot of boxes.

"He just needs to continue to perform at a good level consistently."

  7. 'Maresca has done an amazing job at Chelsea'published at 14:47 GMT 31 October

Tottenham v Chelsea (Sat, 17:30 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs boss Thomas Frank on the challenge posed by Saturday's opponents:

"Enzo has done an amazing job at Chelsea. Competing on more than one front. Won the Club World Cup and had a good start.

"They're clear in what they want to achieve and how they play. It'll be another nice Premier League challenge against a good team."

On the Blues' run of red cards: "I haven't looked into every red card they've got. It is about us and the game we need to perform. To be intense with a cool head."

On Spurs having a better record away from home this season: "If you want to achieve something big, you need good home and away form. At the moment, our form at home is a very small sample."

On Wednesday's Carabao Cup defeat at Newcastle: "I like to have a challenge. If we had won - which I think we weren't far from - we would be in the next round and still competing. It is tough to compete in 60 games. Every club is rotating. That is part of it and you're trying to find the right balance."

  8. 'Incredibly blessed and happy to work with my assistants'published at 14:45 GMT 31 October

Man City v Bournemouth (Sun, 16:30 GMT)

    Manchester City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola on his assistant changes in the summer and how much they have helped him: "I have been so lucky in my career as a manager. At Barcelona and Bayern Munich but here especially because it has changed a lot. I have been incredibly blessed and happy to work with all of them.

"I think not me, Man City, Pep Lijnders and Kolo [Toure] and James [French] on set-pieces, it is a joy to work with them. It is a joy to work with them and I am so happy. I was in the past but we are talking this season.

"I am learning a lot. The most important thing for me is people that can add something to my knowledge as a manager and I have it. We talk a lot and that is so nice because it is why you are a manager. Football is not just the pleasure of playing, it is to talk as well and how we can help the team. I feel embrace for all of them and that is all I can ask."

  9. 'It has everything to be a top game'published at 14:39 GMT 31 October

Tottenham v Chelsea (Sat, 17:30 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Thomas Frank reflected on the famous 4-1 defeat to Chelsea under Ange Postecoglou in 2023 in which Spurs maintained a high line despite playing with nine men:

"There is so much on it against a very good Chelsea team. It has everything to be a top game that will hopefully put you on the edge of your seat.“

"It was entertaining. We're in an entertainment industry. The 4-1 - that was crazy. You never know [If it is going to be as crazy as that one]."

  10. 'Bournemouth have a clear philosophy and that does not change'published at 14:36 GMT 31 October

Man City v Bournemouth (Sun, 16:30 GMT)

    Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was asked if he was surprised about how well Bournemouth have adapted to losing their best players: "They are top. How co-ordinated they are with the hierarchy with the sporting directors, with the managers and with the players - they have a clear philosophy and that doesn't change. Of course players change and other things but it is impressive. When you lose three or four players from a back four to Real Madrid and Liverpool and you reimburse the team and do it in that way it is because they have a lot of good work behind them."

  11. Guardiola on the 'traditional top six' in the Premier Leaguepublished at 14:31 GMT 31 October

Man City v Bournemouth (Sun, 16:30 GMT)

    Manchester City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was asked whether the Premier League's traditional 'top six' has changed since he first arrived in the league: "I remember when I was in Munich or Barcelona, I always heard that in England, everyone could beat everyone. Maybe Liverpool and ourselves in the past changed that dynamic because we were so consistent arriving every season with 90, 90, 90 points, close to 100 points.

"But, I think the Premier League has always been like this. At some point like NBA, there is not a dominant team in the last four or five or six years there is always one different team and everyone can beat everyone. I think for the spectator and for the show of the Premier League it is really, really good."

  12. 'Bobb needs to believe in himself and how good he is'published at 14:25 GMT 31 October

Man City v Bournemouth (Sun, 16:30 GMT)

Man City v Bournemouth (Sun, 16:30 GMT)

    Manchester City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was asked whether Phil Foden deserves a recall to the England squad: "That is a question for Thomas [Tuchel]. He has to play as best as possible. English players are fantastic and in his position there are many. He has to play good every day and after that, Thomas will decide the best for the national team."

  15. 'An honour for me to see Foden's 200 games'published at 14:18 GMT 31 October

  19. I want to give knowledge, power and responsibility to the squad - Le Brispublished at 14:09 GMT 31 October

Sunderland v Everton (Mon, 20:00 GMT)

    Sunderland

More from Sunderland manager Regis le Bris on how he wants his players to solve problems and size up opportunities on the pitch: "As a coach you do not want to be the main man. That is not my purpose. I want to give knowledge, power and responsibility to the squad.

"I know you have to manage the game in real time, when you are on the sideline you can't do that because of the crowd and because you are not a player. We have other players on the pitch [other than captain Granit Xhaka] to manage micro situations. We are improving our level and are now able to be more proactive, flexible and adaptive to solve and fix problems. And to size up opportunities as well."

  20. 'I know a way to change the current situation'published at 14:03 GMT 31 October

Fulham v Wolves (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Wolves

Wolves boss Vitor Pereira on what he would say to supporters ahead of the trip to Craven Cottage: "I know a way to change the current situation and the answer is to work hard every day. I'm trying to convince my team that we have quality and convince them to keep their energy up.

"We have to go into the next game against Fulham with ambition. We have to increase our tactical organisation. We need to keep fighting because I think we deserve a result from the way that we work."

There was also a squad update after the midweek Carabao Cup match: "Rodrigo Gomes and Matt Doherty are out of the game."
