Another home game, another attempt by Norwich boss Liam Manning to find a winning formula.

Jack Stacey and Liam Gibbs are out of the matchday squad with the former suffering from concussion while Jakov Medic and Mirko Topic drop to the bench.

Into the starting line-up come Kellen Fisher, Ruairi McConville and Jeffrey Schlupp while defender Shane Duffy is in for his first appearance of any kind this season.

Hull City have brought in Lewie Coyle and Joel Ndala with Semi Ajayi and Cody Drameh among the substitutes.

Another week, another week of much hand-wringing at Carrow Road.

Five defeats on the bounce have left Norwich well, less than bouncy, and head coach Liam Manning with surely very little wriggle room.

Not the case if you listen to owner Mark Attanasio, who this week gave his full backing to the embattled boss.

"There's no plan to sack Liam. We hired Liam because of his record as an English football coach," the American told BBC Radio Norfolk this week.

Manning admitted he had had a "good honest chat" with Attanasio but the time for talk is surely over, after all, defeat today would be an unthinkable sixth in a row at home.

Hull City fans must be watching the goings-on in Norfolk relieved that for once the domain of managerial chaos is somewhere else.

Sergej Jakirovic, appointed in June, is their third manager since the somewhat puzzling dismissal of Liam Rosenior in May 2024 but this might be third time lucky for the Tigers.

The Bosnian has led Hull on a five-game unbeaten run which has pushed them to within goal difference of the top six.

So, can the Canaries start to fly or will they feel the Tigers' bite?

Victor Kristiansen makes his first start of the season for Leicester City as part of four changes.

Boubakary Soumare returns to the starting line-up after being rested last time out, while Stephy Mavididi is also fit to start.

Neither Jeremy Monga nor Aaron Ramsey are present in the squad but Jordan Ayew and Luke Thomas are available from the bench.

Julian Carranza completes the forward line.

Just one change for Rovers as Axel Henriksson comes in for Ryoya Morishita, who rotates to the bench.

  4. Blackburn to give "100%" against floundering Foxespublished at 12:12 GMT 1 November

Blackburn Rovers face Leicester City in the Championship on Saturday

Neither Leicester nor Blackburn are enjoying their seasons thus far.

Leicester are lingering away from the top six after two successive losses added to a three-match winless streak, leaving them 11 points off pacemakers Coventry City.

The advantages of being home haven't offered much comfort for the Foxes either. They've succumbed to three straight draws at the King Power to create a building nervous atmosphere amongst its patrons.

There will be much expectation placed on today's game. Blackburn are just one point above the relegation line and many in the stadium will hope it'll put an end to the stalemate run - but Rovers will be giving it everything to make sure Leicester's dry spell continues.

"The job [of a footballer] is always to give 100%. What is not negotiable is for the performance to be less than 100%," Rovers boss Valerien Ismael told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"I said there are three reasons why you can't be 100% - if you are sick, injured or have a private problem, otherwise we have to give it everything.

"It's a privilege to be in this job and this is the least we can do."

Coventry City's first loss of the season hasn't done too much damage... today at least.

Their scrumptious goal difference means they will end the weekend still top dogs but Middlesbrough could level up the points should they prevail against Watford later this afternoon.

Meanwhile, at the other end, Blackburn Rovers are the only side in any real danger of being dumped within the bottom three.

Rovers will want victory over a struggling Leicester City to ensure Sheffield United and Norwich City can't escape no matter how well they perform in their own matches.

  7. And then there were none...published at 12:03 GMT 1 November

    FT: Wrexham 3-2 Coventry

The EFL weekend kicked off with a real bang last night as Championship leaders Coventry saw their unbeaten start to the season come to an end.

Wales international striker Kieffer Moore bagged a hat-trick, all assisted by Josh Windass, to give Wrexham all three points against Frank Lampard's Sky Blues.

The free-scoring visitors took the lead through Ephron Mason-Clark before Moore's treble turned the match completely on its head.

Tatsuhiro Sakamoto grabbed a late goal for the visitors but they could not find a leveller to preserve their unblemished record.

Coventry's defeat means that all 92 teams in the top four tiers have lost at least once this campaign.

Halloween may be over but the Championship have plenty more tricks and treats in store.

Last night, we saw Wrexham deliver a horror show for Coventry City fans - their first defeat of the season to demonstrate that even the biggest monster in the Championship can be slayed.

Today, Middlesbrough will be given the chance to deepen the Sky Blues terrors by pulling themselves level on points.

Sheffield Wednesday's on-going nightmare will want to see some light relief as they visit West Bromwich Albion and there are a couple of bosses among the field who'd like to ensure they don't become a ghost of the past any time soon.

Stay where you are - all the build up is on the way.
