Five things to look out for at British Grand Prix

Round 12 of the 2025 Formula 1 season arrives at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix on 6 July.

Red Bull's Max Verstappen will be on pole for Sunday's race with McLaren's Oscar Piastri alongside him.

Britons Lando Norris, George Russell and Lewis Hamilton will start in third, fourth and fifth.

Rookie Ollie Bearman has a 10-place grid penalty and will start his first home race in 18th, having qualified in eighth.

Norris is 15 points behind championship leader Piastri at the top of the drivers' championship following his win in Austria last week.

Sunday's race starts at 15:00 BST.

What is Silverstone weather forecast?

'Silverstone is bonkers' - Russell 'giving it everything' to win

The forecast is now predicting light clouds and breeze for Sunday's 52-lap race.

There is a 19% chance of rain for tomorrow's race and the temperature will reach a high of 20C.

Thunder and rain showers are predicted earlier in the day before the grand prix.

F1 confirms 2026 pre-season testing dates

Formula 1 has announced three pre-season tests before the 2026 campaign begins in Australia from 6-8 March.

The first five-day test will be held behind closed doors at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain between 26-30 January.

The Bahrain International Circuit in Bahrain then hosts the final two sessions, which are three days long, from 11-13 and 18-20 February.

Meanwhile, next season's Azerbaijan Grand Prix will take place on Saturday, 26 September with qualifying on Friday to accommodate a national day.
