Round 14 of the 2024 Formula 1 season heads to Spa-Francorchamps for the Belgian Grand Prix from 27-28 July - the final race before the summer break.

Last time out in Hungary, McLaren's Oscar Piastri secured his maiden grand prix victory after Lando Norris handed back the race lead following team orders drama.

Lewis Hamilton finished in the final podium place in third, while reigning world champion Max Verstappen was fifth after colliding with the Mercedes driver towards the end of the race.

Norris has cut Verstappen's lead at the top of the drivers' championship to 76 points.

What is the weather forecast for the Belgian GP?

The weather can be changeable at the iconic Belgian circuit, with last year's event hit with heavy rain and safety concerns.

For the 2024 event, BBC weather forecaster Ian Fergusson says: "High pressure building from the west into Sunday will bring much better conditions for the race."

Spa is a favourite track among Formula 1 drivers for its mix of long straights and high-speed corners.

Located close to the Fagnes mountains, the picturesque circuit has 19 corners and is the longest on the F1 calendar at 7.004km, with the lap record of one minute 46.286 seconds held by Valtteri Bottas since 2018.

The most famous section of the track comes at the beginning of the lap. Once drivers have navigated the La Source hairpin, they then head flat out down to Eau Rouge before being launched uphill through Raidillon.

Championship leader Max Verstappen has won the past three Belgian Grands Prix, while seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher holds the record for the most victories at Spa with six.
