Omagh produced a major upset as they stormed back to beat 13-man Crossmaglen in the Ulster club quarter-final.

Ronan O'Neill's goal brought Omagh level at Healy Park but Cross moved clear and Padraig Stuttard netted to give them a 1-8 to 1-2 half-time lead.

Callum Comiskey was dismissed before Barry Tierney palmed in Omagh's second goal and Tony Kernan also saw red as the momentum switched to the hosts.

O'Neill fired over an injury-time point to clinch a place in the semi-finals.

It was all going to plan for the 10-times Ulster champions in the early stages with Jamie Clarke slotting over the opening point.

Tony Kernan and Kyle Brennan added to the tally before O'Neill fired past the advancing Paul Hearty and into the net after seven minutes.

Cross were soon back in control and rattling up the points and Stuttard blasted in just before the break to give the Armagh visitors a healthy six-point lead at the break, although they enjoyed the wind advantage.

It was calamity time for Cross early in the second half, starting with Comiskey's exit as he received a black card to follow an earlier yellow.

Tierney showed bravey to palm home from close-range to leave Omagh just a point back and Tony Kernan's dismissal, after an off-the-ball incident, put the Tyrone side in the driving seat.

Conan Grugan levelled before O'Neill put Omagh in front and he added another in the dying seconds to seal the win.

"We knew it was going to be tough and the turning point came with the two red cards - thankfully we came through," said Omagh defender Joe McMahon.

"We were happy enough to be six back at the break considering we would have the breeze and Barry Tierney's goal really spurred us on."
