Crossmaglen remain on course to retain the Armagh Senior Football title after seeing off a stubborn Madden 1-17 to 0-14 in Sunday's second semi-final.

Cian McConville's injury-time goal sealed the victory as Cross reached their eighth decider in 10 years.

Brothers, Oisin and Rian O'Neill led the charge with 10 points between them.

Cross will face Clan na Gael after Stefan Campbell's 10 points edged them past Clann Eireann 0-14 to 1-9 after extra-time in Saturday's Lurgan derby.

Clan na Gael have won the Armagh title on 14 occasions but their last triumph was in 1994.

In Sunday's second semi-final at the Athletic Grounds, Crossmaglen raced into an early lead with scores from Daniel Cumiskey and Odhran Kiernan after some wayward shooting from Madden.

Joe Sheridan steadied the ship with his team's first score after five minutes and their best spell of the half followed soon after with three points in as many minutes from Darragh McMullan, Ciaran Rafferty and Niall Smith.

The O'Neill brothers kept Crossmaglen scoring either side of a double from Conor Grimley.

The sides were level seven times in the opening 30 minutes which included the half-time score of 0-7 apiece.

Madden started the second half the brighter with Niall Grimley and Oisin O'Hara on target.

The first time Crossmaglen led in the second half was when Oisin O'Neill kicked his fourth of the day to put them 0-12 to 0-11 with 51 minutes played. It was the first time the champions had been ahead since the seventh minute.

Madden did get back level again with scores from Aaron McKenna and Donal Rafferty but Anthony Cunningham's side showed why they are going into their sixth final in a row as three scores on the bounce - two from Oisin O'Neill and a majestic effort from Jamie Clarke on the left wing - put them in control with time nearly up.

Cian McConville's major in injury-time almost burst the bottom corner of the net to round off the holders' victory.

In the Lurgan derby, 2021 champions Clann Eireann looked set for victory after increasing their 0-4 to 0-2 half-time advantage to six points in the third quarter helped by a number of Conor Turbitt points.

However, Campbell's scores helped Clan na Gael force extra-time as they sides were locked at 0-9 to 0-9.

Scores from Shane McPartlan and Callum O'Neill helped Clan na Gael move four up in the second period of extra-time and while Turbitt netted late on from a rebound after his own penalty had been saved, Campbell's 10th point closed out the game.
