Glen manager Malachy O'Rourke says he is hopeful that Ryan Dougan and Jack Doherty will be fit to start Sunday's All-Ireland Club Football final against St Brigid's of Roscommon at Croke Park.

Both players came off injured during the Derry side's 1-14 to 2-10 semi-final win over Kilmacud Crokes

Full-back Dougan has been nursing a hamstring injury while centre half-forward Doherty has an ankle complaint.

"We would be hopeful that they would be fit to start the game," said O'Rourke.

"Obviously that would be a massive bonus to us and that's the way we are looking at it at the minute."

Neither player has taken part in training since the last-four encounter at Newry on 7 January, O'Rourke revealed.

"They have been getting intensive treatment. We're working against the clock and doing everything possible to get them right and we're confident at this stage that the two of them will be able to start," explained the former Monaghan manager.

"They have just been rehabbing so far but hopefully they will get out on the field this week. We obviously need that. So far it has just been recovery.

"Hopefully we will know more towards the end of the week but we're hoping they will be ok."
