Oisin McConville: Wicklow boss handed four-week ban for verbal abuse of referee
- Published
Wicklow manager Oisin McConville has been given a four-week suspension after being found to have verbally abused referee Kieran Eannetta in last weekend's defeat by Sligo.
McConville failed in his attempts to have his recommended ban overturned at a Central Hearings Committee meeting on Wednesday night.
The Wicklow boss does have further appeal options.
He could go to the Central Appeals Committee and as a last-ditch, the DRA.
However, as it stands the Armagh man is set to miss Wicklow's upcoming Division Three games against Westmeath and Clare following his criticism of Tyrone referee Eannetta.
Wicklow were beaten at home 0-18 to 0-13 by Down in their opener before losing 2-10 to 1-11 in Sligo last weekend.
