Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth gold medallist Dan Purvis has retained his all-around title at the 2015 Scottish National Artistic Gymnastics championships.

Purvis scored 86.293 in Perth to pip his Scotland team-mate Frank Baines (83.250).

In the women's competition, Amy Regan claimed her fifth Scottish all-around title with a score of 48.750.

"It was always going to be a battle between me and Frank," said Purvis.

"I am really happy to come through the competition and win the title. I was really happy with the pommel horse. It's normally my shaky piece but I managed a few new skills and to stay on and got one of my highest scores."

Regan, of Largs Gymnastics Club, was equally thrilled after only recently getting back into training following a post-Commonwealth Games break.

"To be able to come out and win again and start the season well makes me really happy," she said.

"It's crazy to think just a few years ago I won my first title and now I am on my fifth."
