GB win two golds at Trampoline & Tumbling World Championships

Great Britain won women's double mini trampoline (DMT) team gold for the first time among the nation's four medals at the Trampoline & Tumbling World Championships on Friday.

The British DMT quartet of Kirsty Way, Molly McKenna, Bethany Williamson and Ruth Shevelan clinched the title ahead of Portugal and Canada in Birmingham.

GB also retained the women's team tumbling title won in Sofia last year.

The men's teams won tumbling silver and double mini trampoline bronze.

The women's tumbling quartet of Megan Kealy, Saskia Servini, Naana Oppon and Shanice Davidson beat France and third-placed USA to gold.

Azerbaijan claimed a first ever medal at the World Championships to deny GB's men tumbling team gold, as Denmark finished in third.

And bronze was achieved in the men's double mini trampoline team final - GB's first medal in the event for a decade - behind champions the USA and runners-up Spain.

The Utilita Arena in Birmingham is hosting the 2023 World Trampoline, Tumbling and DMT Championship from 9-19 November.

In 2022, Great Britain achieved nine podium positions and reached the top of the medal table for the first time in the history of the championships.

The event is also the primary qualification event for the Olympic discipline of trampoline at the 2024 Paris Games.
