England's men and women both lost heavily to Belgium in their final FIH Pro League games at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre in London on Sunday.

The women were unable to repeat Saturday's victory, losing 4-1, while the men were humbled 5-0.

The England teams both finish sixth in their respective league tables.

In the men's game, Belgium took an early lead through Nicolas de Kerpel but England remained in the match until Arthur de Sloover reacted quickest to turn in the visitors' second.

The hosts then decided to play with 11 outfield players to enhance their attacking potency, but it left them exposed at the back as Alexander Hendrickx scored two penalty corner goals and De Kerpel added a fifth.

England's men are next in action against Ghana at the Commonwealth Games on 29 July.

In the women's fixture earlier in the day, Stephanie Vanden Borre opened the scoring for Belgium and Justine Rasir added a second.

Vanden Borre scored a third three minutes after the interval and although the hosts threatened a comeback when Tess Howard pulled a goal back, Rasir's second ended their challenge.

England are next in action against India in their opening World Cup game on Sunday, 3 July in Amsterdam.
