Elite League: Giants regroup to beat Steelers

The Belfast Giants run out 3-0 winners in the Elite League game against Sheffield Steelers.

Belfast Giants avenged Friday's defeat by leaders Sheffield as they beat the Steelers 3-0 in Saturday's Elite League clash at the Odyssey Arena.

After a goalless first period, Noah Clarke put the Giants ahead with a powerplay goal six minutes into the second period.

Further goals followed from Matt Towe and Gareth Roberts as the Giants cut Sheffield's lead to one point.

Belfast were beaten 5-1 in Friday's clash at the Odyssey Arena.

Jonathan Phillips put the visitors ahead midway through the second period in Friday's game before Shawn Limpright and Colin Shields made it 3-0.

Darryl Lloyd pulled one back but goals from Philips and Shields sealed victory for the Steelers.
