Nottingham Panthers coach Corey Neilson said his side made life difficult for themselves after withstanding a spirited Belfast Giants to win the Elite League play-offs in overtime.
Panthers were 2-0 up and in control but Giants to hit back in the third period.
However, Jordan Fox's scrambled golden goal settled the game to clinch a League, Cup and play-off treble.
"Belfast had a great game. You cannot defend certain things but we got it done in the end," said Neilson.
"They have a good team and it was very hard and a tough night but we continued to play good hockey. I thought it was a great spectacle.
"My players have done a fantastic job all season and we have some pretty special players. It's been fun.
"You can have great chances and momentum and we seemed to have decent chances but their keeper Stephen Murphy was outstanding.
"Our goal was to win the league and now it is to continue with that pace and collect trophies. Hopefully we can also put this great country on the map in Europe.
"It is my duty to try to re-sign these guys. It will be a tough job but I am looking forward to it."
