Andrew Dickson from Ballymoney is staying on as reserve netminder with the Belfast Giants for another season.

The 25-year-old will be back-up to first-choice goalie Stephen Murphy for a third season.

Dickson played in the Continental Cup last season when the Giants beat the Dutch champions, Ruijters Eaters Geleen.

"The guys on last season's team loved having Andrew around," said Giants general manager Todd Kelman.

"He is a very hard worker and a great team-mate. He understands that he has to train harder than anyone if he wants to continue improving year on year.

"Northern Ireland should be proud of one of their own putting in the effort and commitment week on week to make it at this level."

Dicson said: "I love being part of the Giants and, with the team our new coach Paul Adey is putting together, it looks like we will be contenders again next season. "
