Belfast Giants lift the Elite League trophy at the Odyssey Arena

The Belfast Giants ensured that their Elite League title celebrations went off with an extra bang by beating Coventry Blaze 7-4 at the Odyssey.

Craig Peacock found the net twice twice, with Evan Cheverie, Adam Keefe, Jeff Szwez, Darryl Lloyd and Colin Shields also getting on the scoresheet.

Ryan Ginand, Cale Tanaka, Adma Heinrich and Nejc Berlisk were on target for the visitors.

The Giants clinched the title last Sunday with 10 fixtures to spare.

It was the Belfast side's fourth league triumph and they celebrated in style with their supporters on Friday night.

Paul Adey's side have now won 12 league matches in a row and they will attempt to add to that tally when they face the same opposition on Saturday night.

The Giants will face Nottingham Panthers in a two-legged semi-final next month as they try to add the Challenge Cup to their league success.
