Elite League winners the Belfast Giants finish their 2013/14 home programme by beating the Nottingham Panthers 5-3.

The Belfast Giants completed their second win over the Nottingham in two days with a 5-3 league victory.

Having lost Friday's Challenge Cup final first leg 5-2 in Belfast, the Panthers came out fighting and led through an early goal by Petr Kalus.

Darryl Lloyd levelled before Kalus struck again, but the Giants went 4-2 up with goals by Kevin Saurette, Jeffrey Szwez and Jeff Mason.

Leigh Salters pulled one back before Chris Higgins made it 5-3 to Belfast.

The sides clash again in the second leg of the Challenge Cup final in Nottingham's National Ice Centre on Tuesday night.

With a three-goal advantage, Paul Adey's men will be favourites to add the cup to the league title they won so convincingly.
