Cardiff Devils romped to an 8-1 home win on Sunday over Manchester Storm on the opening weekend of the 2022-23 Elite League season.

Sam Jardine opened the scoring for Devils late in a tight first period.

But Devils then let rip in the second, scoring five unanswered goals through Riley Brandt, Marcus Crawford and a Cole Sanford triple.

Storm got themselves on the scoreboard through Cameron Critchlow, only for Brandt and Justin Crandall to reply.

Devils had opened their season on Saturday with a 3-1 victory at Sheffield Steelers.

Assistant captain Sam Duggan put Devils ahead and Joshua Brittain added their second before Steelers replied through Adam Raska.

Duggan restored the visitors' two-goal advantage and the Devils saw out the win.
