- Published
Cardiff Devils slumped to their second Elite League loss of the weekend with a shootout defeat at Coventry Blaze.
Ian McNulty struck first for Blaze on Sunday evening, but Riley Brandt and Justin Crandall replied for Devils.
With just under two minutes remaining, McNulty struck his second to send the game into overtime.
A scoreless extra period ushered in the shootout, with Blaze netminder Taran Kozun shutting out Devils while Kobe Roth, JD Dudek and McNulty scored.
On Saturday night, Nottingham Panthers had secured a 4-2 away win at Devils.
Alexander Lunsjo scored twice for Panthers in the first period to give the visitors a commanding lead.
Joey Martin pulled a goal back on the powerplay before forward Otto Nieminen restored Panthers' two-goal lead.
Didrik Henbrant added a fourth for the Panthers late in the second period, and Riley Brandt's late goal proved just a consolation for Devils.
Cardiff's back-to-back defeats see them lose touch with Sheffield Steelers at the top of the Elite League.
