Elite League: Cardiff Devils 2-6 Guildford Flames

Cardiff Devils suffered a second Elite League defeat by Guildford Flames within 24 hours to end 2023 on a low.
They lost 4-3 at Flames on Saturday and endured a more comprehensive defeat a day later.
Devils struck first in the rematch though Jamie Arniel, but Patrick Bajkov and Peter Crinella put them ahead before Arniel equalised.
Lewis Hook put Flames back in front before goals from Turner Ripplinger, Crinella and Patrick Bajkov.
In their first encounter of the weekend Ryan Barrow and Cole Sanford scored for Devils before Trevor Cox made it three.
Brett Ferguson and Matt Tugnutt then replied to make it 3-2 and after Patrick Bajkov levelled the scores, Crinella completed the comeback.
The in-form Flames have now made it 10 wins victories in their last 12 games.
Second-placed Devils host league leaders Sheffield Steelers on Wednesday, 3 January (19:30) with the visitors six points ahead and with three games in hand.
Flames are next in action at Nottingham Panthers on Saturday, 6 January (19:00).
The two sides meet again at Cardiff's Vindico Arena on New Year's Eve.
