Elite League: Cardiff Devils 3-4 Fife Flyers (shootout)
- Published
Cardiff Devils were denied a dramatic comeback win as Fife Flyers were victorious in a shootout.
Troy Lajeunesse puts visiting Flyers ahead after 32 seconds, but Evan Mosey levelled up the game on 10 minutes.
Collin Shirley and Lucas Chiodo twice put Fife back in front, only to be pegged back by goals from Marcus Crawford and Brandon Alderson.
But following a goalless final period and overtime, Chiodo scored the crucial shootout goal to give Fife victory.
Defeat for the Devils combined with Sheffield Steelers' shootout win over Nottingham Panthers means Cardiff are now 12 points adrift in second place.
Victory for Fife improves their chances of play-off qualification, as they draw level on points with Dundee Stars.
