Giants honour past heroes in hall of fame induction

The Belfast Giants continued their 25th anniversary celebrations by launching a hall of fame at the SSE Arena.
Unveiled before the Giants' 7-1 win over Dundee Stars on Wednesday night, the initiative aims to honour those who have made a significant impact to the club on or off the ice since their formation in 2000.
The first group of inductees was headed by Bob Zeller and Albert Maasland, co-founders and former owners of the team.
Their first head coach, David Whistle, and former players Jason Bowen and Mark Morrison were also honoured.
Each will be represented by a plaque bearing their name in the arena, with new members to be added each year.
Martin McDowell, chair of The Odyssey Trust, said: "We're proud to have introduced the Belfast Giants hall of fame as we celebrate our 25th season.
"This initiative honours the achievements and dedication of those who have defined our club's legacy throughout the years, and that legacy extends far beyond what happens on the ice.
"Our first five inductees represent the spirit, resilience, and commitment that have shaped the Giants. Their contributions, both on and off the ice, have earned them this well deserved recognition, and it's a privilege to officially commemorate their impact in this way."
