Canadian forward Joey Martin has re-signed for Cardiff Devils ahead of the Elite League season.
The 2024-25 campaign will be Martin’s ninth season with Devils, having first joined in 2014-15.
The 35-year-old left Devils in 2020 while the Elite League was shut down during the Covid pandemic.
Martin played for Stavanger Oilers in Norway in 2021-22 and Graz 99ers the following season but returned to Devils for 2022-23.
Discussing Martin, head coach Pete Russell said: “I cannot say enough good things about Joey Martin as a player or as a person.
"He is one of the most coachable players I have ever had, and he turns up to compete every day.
“He plays hard at both ends of the ice and is someone we rely on to play in every situation.
"He makes guys around him better and still has the knack for putting the puck in the net.
“He leads by example and has been tremendous for this organisation over his entire career. I am very pleased to get him signed up for another season.”
Martin helped Devils win the Challenge Cup in 2015 and 2017, the EIite League in 2017 and 2018 as well as successive Playoff Championships in 2018 and 2019.
