Cardiff Devils need to beat Nottingham Panthers to reach an elimination game

Cardiff Devils kept their Challenge Cup hopes alive with a 4-3 victory at Coventry Blaze.

Brandon Alderson scored for the hosts in the only goal of the opening period at the Skydome Arena.

Reid Duke got Devils back on level terms before Evan Mosey put them in front going into a dramatic final period.

Chase Gresock and Jackson Cressey scored to give Blaze a 3-2 lead, before Tyler Busch hit back for Devils, with Duke's second of the night proving the winner in an entertaining encouter.

Devils had needed victory in order to stay in the competition, they must also win at home to Nottingham Panthers on 22 December if they are to progress from their qualifying group.
