Cardiff Devils edged a thriller at the Vindico Arena beating Manchester Storm 3-2 to move above them in the Elite League (EIHL) standings.
Manchester took the lead in the ninth minute through Gary Haden but the Devils equalised in the 34th minute through Cole Sandford to make it 1-1.
The Devils took advantage of the momentum shift to take the lead three minutes later as Evan Mosey fired past Storm keeper Weninger to make it 2-1.
Kohen Olischefski made it 3-1 with just under six minutes remaining, driving the net and finding space past Weninger.
The visitors made sure it was a nervy ending for the Devils as Kaleb Ergang scored from close range with just under a minute of play to go.
It was, however, too little too late as Cardiff held on for a crucial win at home.
The hosts leapfrog Storm to move into third place in the EIHL table, one point behind leaders Nottingham Panthers - who have played a game more - and level on 11 with Sheffield Steelers.
