Cardiff Devils beat International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Continental Cup third-round hosts Vici Zilina 4-1 on Saturday to reach the final round.

Kohen Olischefski and Zach O'Brien gave Devils the initiative in Zilina, Slovakia and after Simon Betak hit back, the team from Wales took control.

Ben Davies extended Devils' lead and Josh MacDonald finished off their scoring.

In their opening group E game Devils saw off Alps Hockey League and Italian champions, Rittner Buam 5-1.

Gleason Fournier, Josh MacDonald Reid Duke, Cody Donaghey and Joey Martin struck for Devils in the opener with Ethan Szypula responding.

Devils face Kazakh side Arlan Kokshetau - who won the Continental Cup in 2019 - on Sunday (13:00 GMT).

Group F matches are taking place in Aalborg, Denmark. The top two teams from each group progress to the final.
