1. Giants beat Steelers 4-1 to finish regular season on a highpublished at 21:14 British Summer Time 6 April

These two sides might meet again in the play-off final in a few weeks and if they do it promises to be a fabulous decider.

Long way to go before then but the Giants will take a lot of confidence from both performances this weekend and they got the win tonight they deserved.

After two tight, physical scoreless periods and conceding the first goal to Scott Allen, the Giants bounced back with the equaliser from Greg Printz.

Will Cullen’s penalty shot award will be debated but he finished well and then Daniel Tedesco gave the Giants some breathing room before Mark Cooper’s empty netter.

Another big plus for the Giants was the man of the match performance from Tyler Beskorowany.

Another regular season is in the books.

  16. Welcome to Hockey Night in Belfastpublished at 18:49 British Summer Time 6 April

Belfast Giants v Sheffield Steelers (19:00 BST)

It’s the final game of the regular season for the Giants and Steelers.

The first clash of the weekend doubleheader went the way of the Steelers in overtime and was a fantastic advert for the sport in the UK and played out on front of a crowd of over 7,300 raucous fans.

Both sides want to head into the play-offs next week on the back of a win. The Steelers are two-thirds of the way to the Grand Slam, an achievement the Giants celebrated last season and Adam Keefe’s side maybe one of the few teams capable of stopping the Sheffield juggernaut.
