Significant win for the Belfast Giants as they dominated the last two periods of this game against a Devils side that looked a little demoralised by the end.

Jackson Whistle with the shoutout was outstanding, defensively the Giants were impressive and they took a lot of their chances.

Job done this weekend by the Giants.

Dedication to team defence is what is most impressive about this Giants performance so far - blocked shots, sticks in passing lanes and backed up by tremendous goaltending from Jackson Whistle.

The Devils have got to be getting frustrated but they have to keep going.

I’d expect a real push from Cardiff in this second period.

This is a must win for a couple of reasons - they’d be 15 points behind the Giants and almost certainly out of the title running if they don’t win and they would also be 0-5 against the Giants this season with a loss.

The Devils make a change between the pipes tonight with Ben Bowns coming in for Mac Carruth while the Giants ride the coat tails of Jackson Whistle once more after his man of the match performance last night.

With Sheffield and Nottingham playing each other tonight it feels like another significant evening in the Elite League title chase.

The second part of the Belfast Giants vs. Cardiff Devils double-header.

Game 1 went the way of the hosts, moving the Giants six points clear at the top of the table and keeping their 100% record against the Devils alive.

Thirteen points off top spot, the Devils have no option but to win tonight and probably go almost perfect until the end of the season if they want a shot at the league title.
