Britain's Natalie Powell missed out on a bronze medal to finish fifth at the World Judo Masters in St Petersburg.

The 27-year-old, a silver medallist in 2015, had earlier beaten two-time Olympic bronze medallist Mayra Aguiar.

Her bronze-medal match at -78kg with Guusje Steenhuis of the Netherlands, whom she had beaten last time out in Abu Dhabi, went to a golden score.

Powell almost scored waza-ari after taking Steenhuis back but her arm became caught and she had to tap.
