'Attempts from both sides'
Egypt 1-0 Senegal
BBC Arabic's Riham Eldeeb
Egypt will be feeling very good at half time, having succeeded to take the lead after just four minutes - Mo Salah receiving a lofted pass from the side and shooting almost from the penalty spot. The ball crashed against the crossbar - but luck wasn’t on Senegal’s side as the ball bounced into the back of the slightly disorientated Senegal goalkeeper Saliou Cisse and into the net.
Since then there have been attempts from both sides.

If you're reading this while listening to the BBC World Service commentary in Africa on your radio, you may be wondering why the audio is coming from Kevin Hand and Nishat Ladha in London, and not Kumasi. The answer is that severe power and connectivity issues have hit the stadium - to the extent that none of the broadcasters there have been able to get on air.
Fortunately, the live feed is being supplied, which means we can still bring you the coverage.
This match was meant to be held in Cape Coast, but was moved to Kumasi only last week because the pitch was in such terrible condition.
'Cagey'
Ghana 0-0 Nigeria

A tight affair. Predictable Nigeria had their wings clipped as Moses Simon and Samuel Chukwueze were ineffective. Ghana came close to scoring and Nigeria had chances of their own.
The build-up to this game saw both sets of fans pumped up, but going by the cagey first half it appears a draw will be a good result for the travellers.

Worth noting what a fantastic night this has been so far for the north African teams. Morocco were looking well beaten by DR Congo but dragged themselves back into it with a blur-fast counter-attack; they now go back home with a critical away goal. Algeria saw off Cameroon away, as did Tunisia in Mali thanks to a Sissoko own goal that, for everyone except Malians, was frankly comical. And now Egypt are 1-0 up against Senegal - who aren't offering much.
CLOSE!
Ghana 0-0 Nigeria
A thunderous effort from Fatahu Ishaku - but Uzoho reacts to make a brilliant save. That got the fans off their seats. The clearest chance we've seen so far in this game.
