    Charles Leclerc is leading in Montreal but the Ferrari man, who hasn't been happy with his strategy, has only stopped once today. George Russell is not far behind in the Mercedes on his eight-lap old hard tyres.

    I think Max Verstappen and Kimi Antonelli might have pitted too early to be honest. I think they're going to really struggle against Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris come the end of this race.

    Pierre Gasly is on the team radio to Alpine saying a penalty should be dished out after an elbows-out moment with the Aston Martin of Lance Stroll. Race control have noted the incident.

    From the race lead, Oscar Piastri makes his way for a second pit stop to fit hard tyres until the end of this 70-lap grand prix. Lando Norris is in P1, Charles Leclerc P2 and George Russell is sitting pretty in third spot. Piastri is now sixth.

    Oscar Piastri leads, having only made one stop, and now the Aussie is highlighting is car isn't exactly feelin the best right now. The other Mclaren of Lando Norris is flying and consistently collecting up those fastest laps.

    That was a bit of a slow pit stop for George Russell, a rear tyre causing a slight delay for the Mercedes pit crew.

    George Russell is saved because he had a nice buffer to Max Verstappen, he's through Turn Two and clear of all the other drivers who have done that pit stop.

    A good job by the Mercedes crew.

    I cannot for the life of me understand the timing of Ferrari’s pit stops today. They have put both drivers in positions they shouldn’t have been in.

    Graining is where you basically scratch the surface of the tyre, it slides over the surface and creates little ripples kind of ripping on the surface.

    You then tend to run the car on that slightly raised up ripped area and that is where you're running on this dead rubber area which gives much less grip than if you have a nice smooth sticky area.
