George Russell is serenely going about his business, he's five and a half seconds clear now from Max Verstappen. He's doing a really solid job at this stage in the race.

    Lap 38/70

Max Verstappen makes a stop from second place, bolting on another set of hards before coming back out to rejoin the action in sixth place.

    Lap 37/50

It's a lonely race for Lewis Hamilton, who tells his pit wall he is "nowhere" in the pecking order. The seven-time world champion might be limping a bit, but not sure where he has picked up any damage? He reckons he's losing the most performance on the straights.

I think we will resign to the fact that everybody is going to be two-stopping.

Can Lando Norris close that gap to Oscar Piastri and when he does, will there be team orders?

There are still a few cars who have yet pit in this race, including Esteban Ocon in eighth and Carlos Sainz in ninth. Fernando Alonso is on the prowl, though, and is eyeing his fellow Spaniard’s position.

Lando Norris, medium boots bolted on, is now the fastest man on track with a lap time of 1:15.277. The McLaren is up to fifth place, one spot behind team-mate and championship leader Oscar Piastri. A reminder there are 10 points between the duo in the title standings.

At least that gives Lando Norris a chance to at least try, let's see what he can do. I think that's way too early and I don't think he will be able to make it to the end, but it gives McLaren the opportunity that they can stay out there.

Ferrari and Charles Leclerc are not on the same page today. Singing from a different hymn sheet and all that. Leclerc is back on the radio to argue the toss with his engineer about the tyre strategy in Montreal. He is not a happy groundhog.

That's a two-stop for Charles Leclerc. Now it's down to what Lando Norris can do and eek out that tyre life, everyone else is going for a two-stop.

  15. Mediums for Norrispublished at 19:42 British Summer Time 15 June

Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc are running close but the exit of Turn 10 doesn't offer up a chance for the Dutchman to pass like it did George Russell.

He moves up a spot now, though, as Ferrari make the call for Leclerc to come in...

In our eyes Max Verstappen and George Russell are going to be going on a two-stop.

It all depends on how far Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc can eek out this first stint.

We're now seeing George Russell catching the back of Charles Leclerc but not at an alarming rate of knots.
