It's nicely mixed at the moment, I'm quite excited to see how this one plays out in 20 or 30 laps time.

We've got people going long and people pitting very, very early due to the surface temperature and the degradation.

This one is going to be a little bit of a slow burner but I think it's fascinating how it's going to play out.

Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc are one and two now in Canada but neither driver has made a stop yet. Those hard tyres are starting to look a bit tired, so when will be the best time to switch?

How long can Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc keep those hard compound tyres alive? That will be the difference between the potential one-stop and a two-stop.

The Australian is now seventh, his team-mate Lando Norris - who started on the hards - is P1 followed by Charles Leclerc, also a hard runner, and now polesitter George Russell.

    Yes they will...

George Russell is quite comfortably ahead but now he's got to fire those hard compound tyres up.

Max Verstappen will have them nicely up to temperature now.

The problem that everyone is having with tyres is not the core temperature, it's the surface temperature of the tyre. It's the core temperature that McLaren have been so good at keeping under control.

  20. Antonelli next to pitpublished at 19:23 British Summer Time 15 June

    Lap 15/70

Kimi Antonelli is next to come in, medium to hard, and the Italian comes out in ninth. Oscar Piastri now leads, George Russell is fourth and Max Verstappen is fifth.
