England don't need to find the boundaries. They haven't for some time.

  9. Gymnastics

Their target is appearing on the horizon and coming at them quick.

  11. 'I enjoyed that'

Adam Peaty, after qualifying fastest for the 100m breaststroke final on his return to the pool after fracturing his foot in May: "Not bad for four weeks training is it!

"I kind of remembered what it’s about. It isn't about mad performances, of course it is for the crowd, but it’s about lifting other people up. I enjoyed that really. Times are a little bit off, but I'm always putting expectations on myself anyway.

"It's been a very difficult season so far, mentally and physically.

[Race rust?]: "I mean it's my fourth race of the whole year. I'm going down the front end and I think ‘oh this feels a bit weird’. You normally get to that point in January. So I’m still learning, still overcoming. I've just proved to myself that even if you go through that, nothing can take that away from you.

[Motivations]: "It's very very hard to get up for the heats now. Very hard to get up for a semi. Because I know there's nothing really at stake, in my subconscious. Whereas before you want to prove everything right? But I’m nearly eight years professionally into this game. It’s been an amazing journey so far, but where do we go from here?"

  12. Wales suffer another defeat

    FT: India 3-1 Wales

Cast your mind back to the Gold Coast Games in 2018. You might remember a famous victory for Wales in the women's hockey. If you're Welsh you will definitely remember.

    The opponents? India.

So they had a score to settle with the Welsh as they met again in Birmingham.

India led 2-0 at half-time before Xenna Hughes put Wales back into the match shortly before the end of the third quarter.

But a third from Vandana Katariya sealed victory for India, leaving Wales winless from their opening two Pool A games.

Overhauling India and England to grab one of the two qualifying spots looks to be a tough task for the Welsh.

    England 84-4 (13 overs) Sri Lanka 106-9

    Stacy-Ann King

    Ex-West Indies bowler

Spinners brought wickets, so it is an interesting move to bring pace on.

You just can't think about bowling 20 overs - you have to think attack and get a spinner on as soon as possible to create opportunities.

  18. England steady the ship again

    England 84-4 (13 overs) Sri Lanka 106-9

England have steadied the ship after that brief wobble.

More specifically, 17-year-old Alice Capsey and Maia Bouchier have steadied the ship.

England now need 23 more runs from 42 balls to win. How many of those balls will they need?

Three-time British record holder Morrow and 2019 Commonwealth Championships bronze medallist Jones have an outside chance of medals but will most likely need personal bests to make them gold.

Scot Hughes, meanwhile, is having a bit of bother trying to nail her snatch attempts and is aiming to stay in the competition with her third go at 71kg.
