Earlier today, there was a silver medal for England in the women's 59kg.

Jessica Gordon Brown, once a budding judoka as well as a national acrobatic gymnastics champion, is now a Commonwealth medallist in a third sport.

Gordon Brown lifted 86kg in the snatch and then 111kg in the clean and jerk for a combined 197kg, enough for second place which she celebrated with a backflip.

"I'm so glad that finally after doing three different sports I found the one for me," said the 26-year-old.

"I think I'm built for it and I glad I stumbled into it. A happy accident."

Australia's women take the gold!

It was a straight-forward victory in the end for the side that made a shock exit at the quarter-final stage of the Tokyo Olympics.

Faith Nathan scored two tries to contribute to her side's gold medal, one better than they managed at the 2018 Gold Coast games.

Fiji won bronze at the Olympics, their first ever medal in the sport, so it's an improvement on their record too.

James Wilby, who won gold in the men's 100m breaststroke final: "Yeah I mean I love racing and racing alongside him [Peaty] is always so much fun. Tonight, I was able to execute my race the best I could. At the end of the day we’re both incredible racers, we all know what Adam is capable of. We’ll both be back to race again and race each other and It's always going to be an exciting one. But that one was really fun.

Sport is about taking opportunities? "Yeah. Taking your opportunities and racing the best race you can on the night. I'm so happy with that, so thrilled. There's more to come, there's always more races."

Adam's injury was only a matter of weeks ago so you have to give him credit for even coming to these championships.

He could have sat at home, said he had not done enough training, but he didn't.

I think he will still do well in the 50m breaststroke.

Adam Peaty, who finished fourth in the men's 100m breaststroke final: "Yeah, when it comes down to the race sometimes it doesn't go to plan. I was hurting from the 50m but you know that’s a lack of training, lack of racing… it is what it is. I can't overthink it. I’m a fighter and sometimes you have got to have these moments to keep fighting.

"Always learning. This is a huge moment for me really because I'm at a part in my career where you choose to go on or keep at it or whatever… I know this is probably my last Commonwealth Games so it’s great. Wilby had a great race. I was a lot slower than yesterday, it was just a bad race."

Paris still the plan? "Yeah of course. The next two years are going to be huge - how we attack that now, I don’t know. Because I haven’t done two winter blocks in a long time so it’s back to the drawing board and back to training."

Scotland were much better towards the end of that third quarter - they introduced shooter Emma Barrie and she has provided the Scots with a better target and been more accurate under the post.

But Wales have just had too much for Scotland - they have been clinical and drove the ball through court much more easily than Scotland.

It will be a singles decider in the women's table tennis team semi-final match between Wales against Malaysia as the match is locked at 2-2.

James has kind of lived in Adam's shadow but he has taken this opportunity. He has seen there was a big of weakness there and we know he is so strong down that last 25m.

I think Adam will still swim a fantastic 50m here. Adam is such a team player, there was no kicking off there. There was no spitting the dummy out, he went straight over to James and gave him the biggest hug.
