  3. England and New Zealand cricket vie for bronze

    England v New Zealand

    Anna Thompson

    BBC Sport at Edgbaston

It's a gloriously sunny morning at Edgbaston for the bronze medal match in the women's T20 cricket.

England would have hoped to have been in the final but after losing by four runs to India, find themselves playing New Zealand for bronze.

England hammered the White Ferns by seven wickets in their group game encounter. Can they repeat that to win a medal today in what would be a first women's cricket medal won at a Commonwealth Games?

Both teams have been going through warm up drills on the outfield with the match getting under way at 10:00 BST.

Among the 45 golds, here are a few highlights to keep in mind as you plan your day:

    • Athletics: The morning session at Alexander Stadium will see eight gold medals won, including the women's and men's 4x100m relays in which England will go up against the likes of Jamaica and Canada. • Cricket: England were hoping to be in the T20 gold medal match but their defeat to India means they play New Zealand for bronze. Australia take on India at 17:00 for gold.
    • Boxing: 16 titles are decided in three furious bursts of activity at Birmingham's NEC, with plenty of home nations interest.

Another brilliant moment from day nine was England's Jack Hunter-Spivey's Para-table tennis gold.

"When I was a kid I wanted to be the next Steven Gerrard and to be at Anfield, but this is my Anfield and the crowd were the 12th man," he said.

  8. Chalmers wins Guernsey's first ever athletics medal

History was made on Saturday, as Alastair Chalmers won Guernsey's first ever Commonwealth Games medal in athletics.

Here's how he earned bronze in the men's 400m hurdles final.

  9. Amazing entertainment

    Mixed doubles semi-final

    Thomas Duncan

    BBC Scotland at NEC Birmingham

We've just had one of the longest rallies I've ever seen in racket sports here in the semi-final between Scotland and England.

Amazing entertainment as the crowd gasped and moved to the edge of their seats.

England pair Marcus Ellis and Lauren Smith were the ones who emerged with their fists clenched.

They've taken the first game 21-14 against Scotland's Adam Hall and Julie MacPherson.

They lead 7-4 in the second too, and are on course for tomorrow's final.

  10. England take first game against Scots

    Mixed doubles semi-finals

    England take the first game.

The 2018 silver medallists Lauren Smith and Marcus Ellis beat Scotland's Julie MacPherson and Adam Hall 21-14.

The English pair came out on top in an epic 87-shot rally to earn game point.

  11. 'A different class' - Thompson-Herah cruises to 200m gold

Jamaica's Elaine Thompson-Herah was in a league of her own in the women's 200m final last night.

She set a new games record to cruise to gold.

  12. Best dives from England's 3m springboard clean sweep

It was a one-two-three for England in the men's 3m springboard competition.

Watch the best dives from Daniel Goodfellow, Jack Laugher and Jordan Houlden as England locked out the podium on day nine.

  13. Henderson pushing pace in road race

    Women's road race

Fresh from her brilliant time trial silver on Thursday, England’s Anna Henderson continues to make attacks at the front of the peloton but still nothing is getting away from the peloton.

  14. What happened on day nine?

Here's a recap of what happened on a packed day nine at Birmingham 2022:

  15. Early crash in road race

    Women's road race

Another event already well under way this morning is the women's road race.

Gibraltar's Elaine Pratts was among the riders to suffer in an early crash, but it appears all the riders involved have been able to get back on their bikes to continue the circuit around Warwick.

There's around 60km still to go of the 112km route - and so far every attack has been neutralised by the peloton.

    Sprint finish pending?

    Women's road race
  16. England face Scotland for place in badminton final

    Mixed doubles semi-finals

Scotland’s Julie MacPherson and Adam Hall

There’s an all-British semi-final on the show court between second seeds and 2018 silver medallists Lauren Smith and Marcus Ellis of England, and Scotland’s Julie MacPherson and Adam Hall.

Neither pair have dropped a game yet - what will give today?

It’s Singapore v Malaysia in the other semi-final.

That's currently available to watch on the red button and over here.

  17. Wilson going for table tennis bronze

    Men's singles class 8-10

    Ross Wilson

There's some early home nations interest in the men’s singles classes 8-10 table tennis.

England’s Ross Wilson won gold in 2018 but lost to Joshua Stacey on Friday so is going for bronze. He faces Tajudeen Agunbiade of Nigeria.

And once that game has done we'll move straight on to the final where Joshua Stacey of Wales won bronze in 2018. Today, the 22-year-old goes for gold against Australia’s Lin Ma.
