Sam Curran is enjoying a Championship debut to remember.

The 17-year-old has taken the first three Kent second-innings wickets to go with his five in the first innings.

Earlier Surrey were all out for 311 as Kumar Sangakkara struck 110 - his 53rd first-class century.

Curran also showed some promise with the bat hitting a breezy 18 not out to give Surrey a third batting bonus point.

Gareth Roderick's half-century was the only highlight for Gloucestershire in an afternoon session in which they lost five wickets against a disciplined Leicestershire attack.

Wicketkeeper Roderick struck just four boundaries in his 149-ball knock as the pitch at Cheltenham continued to cause problems for the batsmen.

Clint McKay and Charlie Shreck both picked up three wickets.

James Fuller is currently unbeaten on 21 and will hope to bring up at least one batting bonus point for the hosts after tea.

Warwickshire's lower order held their nerve with the bat to seal a dramatic two-wicket win over Durham at Chester-le-Street.

Sam Hain and Laurie Evans (70) fell early to leave the visitors 158-5 - still needing another 107 for victory.

Tim Ambrose (25) and Rikki Clarke (28) rebuilt the innings, but when Clarke was trapped lbw by Graham Onions (3-79), the Bears had slumped to 227-8.

However, Jeetan Patel struck an unbeaten 24 and Tom Milnes made 14 not out to see them home on 265-8.

BBC Essex's Glenn Speller at Chelmsford:

"Essex duly wrapped up victory 22 balls into the afternoon session, and fittingly Jesse Ryder took the final wicket, giving him 10 in the match.

"Glamorgan never looked like saving the game once Jacques Rudolph was out early on the final morning as the Essex bowling unit made good use of overcast conditions, with only the impressive Aneurin Donald offering any resistance.

"The win pushes Essex up to fourth place and there is a growing belief they can get into the promotion race."

"Gloucestershire's Michael Klinger says that this Cheltenham pitch was the most difficult he's had to bat on in England with the ball moving about prodigiously in damp conditions.

"His 24 therefore was a good effort as the home side were put into bat, and although their two openers went early, at 85 for 3 Gloucestershire will be reasonably content at lunch on this first morning."

"It's been good morning session for Kent, who have picked up four wickets.

"Darren Stevens removed Arun Harinath in the first over of the day for his overnight 76 - Stevens' 300th first-class wicket - and he followed that up with the wicket of Zafar Ansari for 10.

"Calum Haggett dismissed Jason Roy for 17 and just before lunch Matt Coles trapped Dominic Sibley lbw for 11. The worry for Kent is Kumar Sangakkara has looked very much at home with the wickets falling - the Sri Lankan maestro goes to lunch unbeaten on 79."

BBC Newcastle's Martin Emmerson at Chester-le-Street:

"The nerves are being tested in Chester-le-Street where Warwickshire need 38 more - but they keep losing wickets at crucial moments and Durham still have hope.

"Laurie Evans, who went for 70, was one of Chris Rushworth's two victims. He now has eight in the match now and 250 first-class wickets in 69 games.

"Chris Woakes was his other victim, lbw for 14 moments before the interval. It's too close to call."

BBC Essex's Glenn Speller at Chelmsford:

"Essex are on the verge of a vital win here and have bowled extremely well in tough conditions for batting.

"Jesse Ryder, with his gentle medium pace, now has nine victims in the match and had the ball on a string this morning, getting it to swing and nip off the seam.

"Aneurin Donald offered the only real resistance, the 18-year-old scoring a breezy career-best 67, but Essex should wrap this up quickly after the interval and put more pressure on the top two."

An exciting finish is in prospect at Chester-le-Street, weather permitting, where Warwickshire will begin the final day on 125-3, needing another 139 runs to beat Durham in their Division One game.

In Division Two, Glamorgan ended day three going well on 110-1 against Essex at Chelmsford, but the Welsh county need to score another 352 to achieve their fifth victory in six games.

At The Oval, meanwhile, Surrey are 144-1 in reply to Kent's 336 all out, with opening batsman Arun Harinath 76 not out, and two days still to play.

Gloucestershire and bottom club Leicestershire start their match Cheltenham today.
