"Hazell tends to skid the ball on and cause some problems. If she can keep rushing the batters, that will be good for England to keep the squeeze on."

  2. SA 32-3published at 8 overs

Fair to say we do not have a capacity crowd at the Wanderers yet, vast swathes of green seats in abundance but it should pick up during the day. Spin for the first time in the diminutive form of Dani Hazell and she keeps things in good order.

  3. SA 29-3published at 7 overs

Better from Sciver with just the one blemish, a wide outside off-stump. The combative Shrubsole nearly hits the batsman with a throw from the covers and is jokingly told to calm down by Taylor.

  4. SA 26-3published at 6 overs

    (Lee 13, Du Preez 7)

Lee is quick to pounce on a slightly short one from Shrubsole as the sun breaks through at the Wanderers, hooking it away for four, and there is a mysterious misfield from Farrant, the ball evading her hand on the fine-leg boundary and trickling away for another four. South Africa's best over so far.

"Nat Sciver is more of a hit-the-pitch bowler than a swing bowler, and with conditions changing, South Africa might try to take the attack to those type of deliveries."

  6. SA 18-3published at 5 overs

    (Du Preez 7, Lee 4)

Natalie Sciver is into the attack but she drops short and it is helped round the corner behind square-leg by Lee for the third boundary of the innings.

"I feel like Du Preez is a gutsy player - she's a captain who seems to really lead her team, so she'll know she needs to dig in. Lizelle Lee can be dangerous if she comes in when there's a base set - but it will be interesting to see how she reacts to this situation."

Russel Winder: Looks like the English women are in winning mood today.

  9. SA 13-3published at 4 overs

    (Du Preez 7, Lee 0)

The powerfully built Shrubsole has the ball on a rope here, it is darting in to the right-handers in the slightly overcast conditions, with Taylor poised at the stumps for any edge or stumping chance. The elegant Du Preez holds the key.

"It's a completely different game to the last one."

  11. SA 11-3published at 3 overs

Time for a captain's innings from Mignon du Preez and she gets off the mark second ball with a cut to the boundary off Farrant, aided by a misfield from Amy Jones.

  12. SA 6-3 (Shrubsole 2-4)published at 2 overs

More movement and it jags in towards the pads but Lizelle Lee gets an edge and keeps out the hat-trick ball. But what an over. And the first ball was clipped for four as well!

"When Shrubsole takes wickets, she tends to take three or four. In two balls she's cleaned up the two best batsmen in this side."

    Kapp b Shrubsole 0 (SA 6-3)

Shrubsole is on a hat-trick! Another one nips back, brushes the pad and Marizanne Kapp is bowled first ball!

"Brilliant delivery. That has cut back a mile and cleaned her up. You can see why Anya Shrubsole is throwing her hands in the air because that was absolutely fantastic."

  16. wicket

    Van Niekerk b Shrubsole 5 (SA 6-2)

Dane Van Niekerk is the prolific batter in the South Africa line-up, with 115 runs from the first two matches, but she is gone early, bowled by a beauty from Anya Shrubsole that nips in and rattles the timbers. What a start from England.

  17. SA 2-1published at 1 over

    (Farrant 1-2)

Teasing line with a bit of swing from Farrant - she's bowling at 99... but that is k's not mph. Just the single off the bat in the over.

"Good bit of work from Sarah Taylor - she was stood up but she's so good behind the stumps. Chetty just found herself off balance."

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 0.2 overs

Chetty st Taylor b Farrant 0 (SA 2-1)

It took an eternity for some reason but it was fairly clear I would have thought that there was nothing on the line, let alone behind it, a neat stumping from the exemplary Taylor and England have broken through.

Sarah Taylor thinks she has a stumping from a leg-side wide. We are going to have a review.
