Once again, no surprises here. I'm guessing Virat's bolshy temperament rather than his batting ability is why 15% of you didn't pick him in your teams.

He is just an absolute run machine, isn't he? Since his debut in 2008, he has scored 11,867 runs at 59.33. That is 3,223 more runs than any other player in that time. Three thousand more than anyone else!!

He slots in at three in this team, where he averages 62.91 in 185 ODIs. It's his best position in terms of average and strike-rate.

OK, we've got our openers. Any complaints so far?

Let's move onto the middle order, where there are some big-name casualties...

  4. Which openers missed out?published at 12:21 British Summer Time 17 June 2020

David Warner was the closest to making the team, with Jason Roy edging him out by about 750 votes.

Next best was Quinton de Kock with 15% while Imam-ul-Haq and Shai Hope both featured in 8% of teams.

Ashley Billington: Only places up for debate... De Kock (Perhaps ROY as an alternative) Rashid (Perhaps Khan(Afg) as an alternative).

What makes Jason Roy so special, though, is the pace at which he scores his runs - he's got the third highest strike-rate of the top 50 run-scorers since making his debut.

Is there anyone else that capitalises as much as Roy when they are on top of a bowler? Twice in the World Cup he hit three successive sixes - he just keeps on going - and has been a major part of England's revival in the format.

The brute power of Jason Roy joins Rohit Sharma at the top of the innings. What a pair.

Since making his ODI debut in 2015, Roy is seventh on the top run-scorers in ODI cricket and only behind Rohit and South Africa's Quinton de Kock as an opener.

So, Rohit's made it two out of two. He's in your world Test and ODI XI.

Who is going to join him? We've got the grace, who is going to bring the power?

What I love about Rohit Sharma is he's got all the grace in the world, he knows how to manipulate the strike - which is so important in one-day cricket - but he's got the power to add it when required.

No great surprises there. Perhaps the biggest surprise is that 45% of you didn't pick the absolute run machine that is Rohit Sharma.

Since he made his ODI debut in 2007 he is the second highest run-scorer in the format behind India team-mate Virat Kohli. Rohit has moved around the order a bit but he averages a ridiculous 58.11 from 138 innings opening the batting. A certainty.

I doubt it surprised many last summer that he was the top run-scorer in the World Cup with 648 at an average of 81.

More than 40,000 of you have picked your teams and there's been some landslide victories, some tight calls and, as usual, some surprises.

One unlucky player has missed out by just 64 votes and some BIG names have not made the cut.

Without further ado let's get on with it...

    Afternoon!

While the time for us to bring you live cricket again is almost upon us, it's not quite here yet, which means we've still got time to debate those classic questions you discuss down the pub and in the pavilion during a rain delay.

For the past seven days that question has been: who would make your world ODI team.

Ready to found out who made it and who missed it?
