  1. Sussex all outpublished at 11:24 British Summer Time 9 April 2021

    Group 3 update

Sussex have just been dismissed for 301 by Lancashire at Old Trafford - Tom Bailey finished the innings with his fourth wicket, removing Sean Hunt.

Elsewhere in Yorkshire's group, Kent are 331-8 at Northants with Darren Stevens unbeaten on 45.

  2. 'Big first hour'published at 11:16 British Summer Time 9 April 2021

    Northamptonshire v Kent 322-7

    Andrew Radd
BBC Radio Northampton at Wantage Road

How many times do we say it?

An awful lot depends on what happens in the first hour today.

Two late wickets for Nathan Buck gave a Northamptonshire a boost in the closing overs of the opening day - and if they can polish off Kent quickly this morning (weather permitting) they will feel right in this match.

But if Darren Stevens (39 not out) and the tail can push the total up towards 400 the visitors will have a clear advantage, albeit on what looks a good batting pitch.

WICKETpublished at 11:09 British Summer Time 9 April 2021

    Hogan c Patterson b Coad 54 (Yorkshire v Glamorgan 326-9)

Fun and games finally all over for Michael Hogan at Headingley as he is caught at long-off trying to smash Ben Coad for another six.

That ninth-wicket partnership of 82 with Timm van der Gugten (81 not out) comes to an end.

  4. Westley into the 90spublished at 11:08 British Summer Time 9 April 2021

    Essex 217-3 v Worcestershire

Tom Westley also continuing his run-scoring form from yesterday as Essex continue to build their first innings total against Worcestershire.

A well-timed leg-glance through midwicket off Charlie Morris races away for four to take him to 90 not out.

  5. 50 runs

for Michael Hoganpublished at 11:05 British Summer Time 9 April 2021

    Yorkshire v Glamorgan 322-8

Michael Hogan has picked up where he left off last night for Glamorgan by reaching his half-century off just 47 balls.

This superb lower-order fightback from the Australian has included eight fours and a six as Glamorgan's tail continues to wag impressively.

Timm van der Gugten is unbeaten on 81 at the other end.

  6. Surrey all outpublished at 11:04 British Summer Time 9 April 2021

    Group 3 update

Elsewhere in Middlesex's group, Surrey have just been bowled out for 220 at Gloucestershire - Reece Topley edging David Payne's third ball of the morning behind.

The other game in the group between Leicestershire and Hampshire is delayed by rain. James Vince is waiting to resume on 168 for Hants with his side 431-4.

  7. Postpublished at 11:01 British Summer Time 9 April 2021

Toby Roland-Jones and Ethan Bamber are at the crease for Middlesex at a sunny Lord's.

Can they push their side past 300?

Craig Overton will bowl first up for Somerset.

What's in store with the forecast?published at 10:55 British Summer Time 9 April 2021

As we've just mentioned, there are likely to be a few weather delays throughout the day with temperatures again feeling a touch on the cold side shall we say and the chance of showers sweeping in for most parts.

Here's the outlook from our colleagues at the BBC Weather Centre.

  13. Slight delay in Nottinghampublished at 10:53 British Summer Time 9 April 2021

    Nottinghamshire v Durham 241-7

    Martin Emmerson
BBC Radio Newcastle at Trent Bridge

The covers have been on and it was a rainy scene which greeted the players as they arrived at Trent Bridge this morning.

However the groundstaff got to work as soon as the rain eased and things are now looking promising.

The players have just emerged to do their warm-ups so I would imagine we will be under way not too far beyond 11:00 BST.
