To play a 100-ball game we need to have started by 19:35 so we do have some time to spare.
The umpires are still out there. They've just finished chatting to the Invincibles coach and captain Tom Moody and Sam Billings.

It is very frustrating. There looks to be a bit of a conference going on. I get the feeling they are going to delay it again.

There seems to be a lot of people with their arms crossed trying to make decisions. There will be some wondering why things haven't got under way.

Oval Invincibles coach Tom Moody has wandered over for a chat with the umpires.
Here's hoping he's saying "let's just get on with it folks".

The players are continuing to warm-up on the outfield and earlier the bowlers were marking out their run-up and painting lines, so they must be confident that we're going to get some play.
Here's hoping.

I'm not too hopeful about this inspection I'll be honest.
There's a really good crowd building at The Oval too. This could be really disappointing.

The umpires are currently talking to the groundsmen about a certain patch of the outfield that is about 10-15 yards in from the point/square-leg boundary.
Nick Cook has his arms out remonstrating. He doesn't seem too happy.
Alex Hales wonders over for a nosey and Cook waves him away.

Hmmm, slightly mixed news on the prospect of play I'm afraid.
The toss has been delayed, and the umpires are going to inspecting as we speak.
We haven't had any further rain since the women's game, the sun has been out and the players have been out training.
In truth, it isn't a great look for the game. The outfield must be very damp to cause this delay.

The rain has already "robbed" us of a thrilling conclusion to the first England-India Test at Trent Bridge, and the women's game between Oval Invincibles and Trent Rockets.
Here's hoping it is third time lucky and the men's game between Invincibles and Rockets takes place...
