That's a very good start for Matt Critchley. Spin was the key for both sides in the women's games, taking the pace off the ball and that's what Critchley has done.

What a catch that was! Josh Cobb had to run a long way to his left to take the catch, it was like a goalkeeper style dive!

    Rossington c Cobb b Critchley 16

Tremendous catch from Josh Cobb at long-on! Adam Rossington hits Matt Critchley down the ground but Cobb comes running across on the boundary, dives full length, and catches it an unorthodox fashion with his hands reverse cupped. Incredible.

That's an extraordinary shot! It's been hit very flat, but still somehow went for six.

    Spirit 38-0published at 24 balls

Matt Milnes, whacked into the stands in his previous set, bangs in a short ball to Josh Inglis but the Spirit batter has second guessed him.

Inglis is deep into his crease and hooks it for six behind square. A lovely thwack off the willow

That's a big hit as the boundaries square of the pitch are big at Sophia Gardens.

This game might not affect things at the top of the table, but in case you missed it, there have been some changes to the teams who have progressed to the next stages of the tournament.

You can read all about those changes here.

  9. Spirit 28-0published at 20 balls

Luke Fletcher looks furious with himself. Another full toss from the Welsh Fire seamer and this time Josh Inglis whips it through mid-wicket for four.

  10. Spirit 23-0published at 17 balls

Luke Fletcher with something too full and Adam Rossington picks up the length early, shuffles down the pitch and uses his wrists to ping it to the boundary rope for four. Crisp.

We were waiting for the first boundary in this innings...And there it is! It was in the slot, waiting to be punished and it's in the stands.

  12. 6 runs

    Spirit 15-0published at 13 balls

Mat Milnes over pitches one and Josh Inglis gets underneath it. He's fully committed to the shot and the ball sails over the boundary at cow corner.

  13. Spirit 5-0published at 10 balls

Luke Fletcher trudges back to his mark with a hang-dog expression. Think I've said it before but more than a hint of Angus Fraser about him.

He offers London Spirit's opening batters nothing to really get hold of, though. Josh Inglis nudges one of his pads and whips a pull to square leg but the fielder cuts it off.

Steady rather than spectacular start from Spirit.

Welsh Fire have conceded a boundary once every five balls bowled in The Hundred which is the poorest rate amongst all teams in the men’s edition.

  15. Spirit 3-0published at 5 balls

Josh Cobb's offies are neat and tidy for Welsh Fire first up. He doesn't offer any width and varied his pace nicely.

The burly figure of Luke Fletcher is at the top of his mark for the second set.
