I just get the feeling we could be in for a humdinger here.

  3. NZ 123-4published at 17 overs

The boundaries just aren't coming. The pitch is slow and Pakistan are fielding brilliantly.

Jimmy Neesham, I hope you're ready for some running.

Never quite got going perfectly on this slow, tricky pitch, but Williamson did a good job to hold things together. This was the best of it.

That was a good partnership between Mitchell and Williamson - but has he fallen just at the wrong time for New Zealand?

The run map shows Kane Williamson scored 46 with 1 six, 1 four, 1 three, 5 twos, and 23 singles for New Zealand

    Williamson b Shaheen 46 (NZ 117-4)

    It's the big one!

Trying to kick things on, Kane Williamson goes down on one knee for a ramp but is bowled by a brilliant Shaheen Afridi slower ball.

What a time for Pakistan to strike, the skipper falling just short of his half-century.

Daryl Mitchell chips one over mid-off just out of reach of a sprinting Babar Azam, before he tries to ramp one over the keeper but Mohammad Rizwan sticks out a glove and saves a guaranteed four.

Twitchy times for New Zealand. It's not quite coming off at the moment.

That would have been out. Mitchell would have been long gone.

  9. NZ 107-3published at 15.1 overs

A first blemish in the field for Pakistan.

The batters set off for a risky second, the throw comes in nicely but Haris Rauf fumbles the ball at the stumps and an opportunity goes begging.

    Williamson 43, Mitchell 31

Bringing Shaheen back doesn't bring a wicket, but they'll be happy with the seven runs from the over.

It's set up pretty nicely for more World Cup semi-final heroics from Daryl Mitchell...

  12. NZ 103-3published at 14.3 overs

Shaheen starts well with two dot balls before being clipped for an effortless boundary by Williamson.

New Zealand are starting to tick.

This is a key over for Pakistan.

New Zealand know Shaheen Afridi has been brought back to break this partnership.

New Zealand have got themselves into a position with two set batters where 160 or 170 is perfectly within their range.

    Oh, Daryl Mitchell. Stop it.

A huge six down the ground off Shadab Khan brings up the fifty partnership from 35 balls between Mitchell and Williamson.

    Handy.

It is a bit of an arm wrestle at the moment. It is hard to work out who has the ascendency given the surface.

  17. NZ 90-3published at 13 overs

Mohammad Wasim responds well after being hit for six, just two runs coming from the next five balls.

  18. NZ 88-3published at 12.3 overs

    It's all going on.

Another lbw appeal is turned down and the ball flies to backward point.

Williamson sets off for the run, is sent back, but the throw misses so they go again and get the single.

    Phew. Breathe.

Well, that's way more than the "width of a fly".

    Going way over the stumps.
