  1. Superchargers 45-1published at 75 balls left

    117 runs needed

Pepper started the last five of the powerplay with a glorious shot, lofted over extra cover for four before Lyth added a boundary of his own.

He lifted the ball just over Madsen's head at short third and the ball bobbled away to the rope.

It's still anyone's game as Matt Parkinson prepares to bowl the next.

The worm shows Northern Superchargers Men are eight runs ahead of Manchester Originals Men. Northern Superchargers Men are 45 for 1 after 25 balls. At the same stage Manchester Originals Men were 37 for 1.

In short-form cricket I can see the logic in Jos Buttler not having the gloves. Eoin Morgan was always fielding near the bowlers to have a word in their ear.

  3. Superchargers 35-1published at 80 balls left

    127 runs needed

Michael Pepper is in at three for the Superchargers but he's off strike after a leg-bye and Lyth thumps the last ball of Klaasen's five away for four.

What a catch by the big man! A full-length dive to grab that.

    Du Plessis c Russell b Klaasen 15 (Superchargers 30-1)

What a catch! Faf du Plessis tried to hit over the top again but doesn't get hold of it.

It still looked like it might land safely, though. That is until Andre Russell flings himself to his left to take a fantastic low catch at mid-on.

    Breakthrough for the Originals!

There's something about a free hit which makes you concentrate that bit extra. Sean Abbott has done well with a dot ball there.

  7. Superchargers 30-0published at 85 balls left

    132 runs needed

Abbott oversteps to gift the Superchargers a free hit - but then swiftly makes amends by bowling Lyth. It's not a wicket, course, but at least the free hit wasn't costly.

Faf du Plessis was trying to take a single after hitting straight back to the bowler! Next ball he has biffed Sean Abbott in the stands for six to add insult to injury.

  9. Superchargers 27-0published at 86 balls left

    135 runs needed

Six more! Isn't it always the way? Abbott misses the chance of the run out and Du Plessis punishes him by plonking the ball into the stands for another maximum.

It's taken in the crowd - and the fan has the time to pose for a picture with the ball before throwing it back. Brilliant! If you're that fan, do us a favour and send us the photo!

Faf du Plessis tonks that! Stand and deliver for six.

  11. Superchargers 20-0published at 87 balls left

    142 runs needed

Six! Faf du Plessis gets himself going by swinging Abbott's second delivery over the ropes - that's a sweet strike!

But he should be gone next ball! Du Plessis defends the ball back to the bowler and sets off for a single. He is sent back - and quite rightly - but would still have been gone had Abbott hit the stumps. He didn't, off target with the underarm throw.

  12. Superchargers 14-0published at 90 balls left

    148 runs needed

A steady end to the set from Klaasen after that boundary from his first ball.

Just two more runs from the next four balls.

Australian Sean Abbott will bowl the first five from the other end.

Fun fact about Freddie Klassen is he once shared a house with the son of former Norwich and Blackburn striker Chris Sutton.

This where Adam Lyth is so good at short-form cricket but knowing where the fielders are place and manipulating where he hits it.

  15. Superchargers 12-0published at 94 balls left

    150 runs needed

Four more! Fred Klaasen is bowling this set of five and Lyth swings his first ball away into the gap at deep mid-wicket.

The fielder gets around to it but can't prevent the ball trickling into the boundary cushion.

Adam Lyth got up and under to get the first boundary of the Superchargers reply.

  17. Superchargers 8-0published at 95 balls left

    154 runs needed

A boundary from the last of Hartley's set of five. Lyth hits the left-arm spinner up and over mid-off, one bounce and over the rope.

A good start for the Superchargers.

  18. Superchargers 1-0published at 99 balls left

    161 runs needed

Adam Lyth gets off the mark first ball, tucking the ball off his pads for a single. We're off!

Adam Lyth and Faf du Plessis are striding out to the middle for the Northern Superchargers.

It looks like it will be spin to start for Manchester Originals, Tom Hartley has his cap off and is ready to bowl. Meanwhile, it is Phil Salt rather than Jos Buttler keeping wicket.

    Thanks, Timothy.

The Originals got off to a flyer, the Superchargers pulled things back but a big finish from Andre Russell and Paul Walter has taken the home side to a very competitive total.

Will it be enough? We're about to find out - here come the umpires and the players aren't too far behind.
