  1. Brave 84-5published at 30 balls left

    Target 148

It's nearly 9pm but the players are still glistening with sweat out there. A lovely image, I know.

64 runs from the last 30 balls needed. It'll take some doing, but it's not impossible.

The change works for Eoin Morgan and London Spirit.

  3. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 34 balls left

    David c Morgan b Wheal 3 (Brave 80-5)

Jordan Thompson breathes a huge sigh of relief as his drop doesn't cost too much! A big breakthrough for London Spirit - Tim David can be a very dangerous batter.

He goes for a big shot to Brad Wheal's first ball but gets it all wrong. In the end, it loops up in the air and Eoin Morgan takes a standard catch.

  4. Brave 80-4published at 35 balls left

    Target 148

The batters nearly run a two to Glenn Maxwell but wisely opt against it because he can throw a ball like a bullet.

He picks up the ball and smiles, mock-throwing the ball as if to say, go on, I dare you to try.

That could be a dangerous chance missed. David can change a game within five or 10 balls. It was a difficult chance but Thompson will want to take that.

  6. dropped catch

David dropped on 1published at 39 balls left

    Brave 76-4

Oh, this would have made things soooo much better for the Spirit!

Tim David chips one softly back at the bowler Jordan Thompson, but he's all over the place in his follow-through and is unable to hang on.

    How costly could that be?

Davies is gutted. He did the hard work. He laid such a good foundation for himself.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 41 balls left

    Davies c Crawley b Crane 36 (Brave 75-4)

    Got him this time!

Alex Davies doesn't learn his lesson from the close call and chips it straight to Zak Crawley, who is grateful he has to do a lot less work this time.

A handy innings from Davies though, just about making up for running out Quinton de Kock.

Davies is not a big power player. Now is not the time to panic. He has got a good foundation.

Sometimes young batters get overawed when they see the required rate climbing but it just takes a couple of boundaries, as we saw with Daniel Bell-Drummond in the first innings.

10 balls can swing the game.

  10. Brave 71-3published at 44 balls left

    Target 148

Crane stays on for another five balls and it so nearly pays off!

Alex Davies lofts one up in the air, Zak Crawley launches himself at the ball but doesn't get there to catch it, instead just sticks a hand out and palms it away effectively.

  11. Brave 70-3published at 46 balls left

    Target 148

Mason Crane starts very well with his leg-spin, but his fourth ball is absolutely pummelled down the ground by Ross Whiteley for four to spoil his party.

This one was pretty funny. Not for Quinton de Kock, of course.

Nathan Ellis' GPS will be off the charts when he has finished.

  14. Brave 64-3published at 50 balls left

    Target 148

Nathan Ellis is putting in some shift on the boundary, pulling off an excellent diving stop to save another four.

Halfway there. Southern Brave need 84 from the last 50 balls.

  15. Brave 59-3published at 55 balls left

    Target 148

The game's just gone a bit flat as both teams try and figure out what's the best approach to take to win it.

Do Brave keep going hard, or just tick along and get it done? Eoin Morgan gives the ball to Brad Wheal to try and get him another wicket or two.

  16. Brave 51-3published at 60 balls left

    Target 148

Eoin Morgan takes a bit of a gamble and keeps Liam Dawson on to bowl 10 in a row, meaning he's now bowled his allocated 20 balls pretty early.

But he's done a tidy job, taking one wicket for 21 runs.

Less than 100 needed now for Southern Brave.

  17. Brave 44-3published at 65 balls left

    Target 148

That wicket just sways things back in the Spirit's favour. One more would make Eoin Morgan a very happy captain.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 67 balls left

Stoinis st Rossington b Dawson 14 (Brave 44-3)

    That one's out, though!

It's a bit of a lucky one but a lovely piece of bowling. Dawson bowls nice and slow, makes Stoinis come towards the ball but he misses it and the ball ricochets off the keeper's gloves and onto the stumps.

    They all count!
