Live Reporting

Ffion Wynne and Tom Mallows

All times stated are UK

  1. Spirit 11-0

It's a bit of left-arm seam from the Nursery End as David Payne looks to take advantage of the Lord's slope.

He is finding a good length first up too, with Adam Rossington and Daniel Bell-Drummond being made to work hard for their runs, running three twos.

  2. Post update

    Phil Tufnell

Former England spinner on BBC Two

He's just snuck that set in without anyone noticing. I wouldn't do that again though.

  3. Post update

    Dane van Niekerk

Oval Invincibles & South Africa captain on BBC Two

Quite brave from Cobb to come around wicket without a deep square in place.

  4. Spirit 6-0

I think Josh Cobb will be happy with that first up.

Adam Rossington and Daniel Bell-Drummond are restricted to just four singles and two to move to 6-0 from the first set.

  5. Post update

    Phil Tufnell

Former England spinner on BBC Two

If you want to turn things around, there's not a better place to do it.

  6. Post update

Lord's really is a picture with blue skies overhead and the stands packed with spectators as Adam Rossington and Daniel Bell-Drummond stride out to open the batting for London Spirit.

It will be spin first up from Welsh Fire skipper Josh Cobb.

    Let's go...

  7. Post update

Welsh Fire bowler Jake Ball speaking to BBC Sport: "We're trusting our process, we know we are all good players but it hasn't clicked so far.

"We know it just takes one player, one innings to get it all back on track. We've all stuck together as a collective. Hopefully we can get things to go better.

"The start of the tournament was quite slow, we couldn't build any momentum even if we were losing because we had a lot of days off in between."

When asked which side looks the best: "I'm going to be biased, the Trent Rockets have looked good."

On playing at Lord's: "This is amazing, packed crowd. It's what all of us want to do."

  8. Post update

    Matthew Henry

    BBC Sport at Lord's

27,107 tickets have been sold for this game. It's a lovely evening. Could be a cracker.

  9. Match-up: Morgan v Duckett

We've picked Eoin Morgan and Ben Duckett as our key battle today.

Former England white-ball captain Morgan has led the London Spirit to four wins from five in this year's competition with the Spirit sitting second in the standings.

The skipper has had a good tournament with the bat, striking 47 and 37 in his first two matches, and scoring a quickfire 27 off 16 against the Rockets last time out.

Former England teammate Ben Duckett is a man out of form. He knocked 25 off 15 against the Manchester Originals but those runs came either side of disappointing scores of seven and 0 last time.

His duck against the Brave was one of three for the Welsh Fire whose top order continues to under-perform.

Will Duckett step up tonight, or will Morgan lead the Spirit to victory?

  12. Post update

Welsh Fire captain Josh Cobb: "We think it might do a little up front but maybe get better as the game goes on once the lights come into affect.

"We have had a disappointing competition. A lot of the lads are hurting but we are looking to put that right and end the competition strongly.

"It's tough. When guys are struggling the are playing games in their mind a lot of the time. It is about trying to keep the enjoyment. There are good players out there but they have struggled a bit with form."

  13. Fire win the toss and will bowl first

Welsh Fire captain Josh Cobb wins the toss and chooses to bowl first.

  14. Good evening

There have been contrasting fortunes for London Spirit and Welsh Fire in the men's competition this year.

Spirit sit second in the table after losing just one of their opening five matches. Fire are rock bottom with five defeats from five.

Will this go to form? Or will Fire get off the mark in 2022?

    Stay tuned to find out...
