All times stated are UK

  1. Fire 4-0

Run out chance as Tom Banton tries to steal a sneaky single. He dives home as the throw comes in and gets lucky that the ball misses the stumps. A direct hit and he would have been out.

That brings an end to Willey's 10-in-a-row. Just four runs conceded from it.

  2. Fire 2-0

If it ain't broke, why fix it?

David Willey stays on to bowl another set of five. He starts with two dots.

  3. Fire 2-0

    Clarke 2, Banton 0

A good first five deliveries from Willey, he goes for just two runs.

  4. Fire 0-0

David Willey starts with a dot to Joe Clarke.

  5. Post update

Here we go then. The players are running out on to the field.

  6. Post update

Northern Superchargers captain Faf Du Plessis: "I'm not sure looking at the wicket. We probably would have bowled first.

"It's such small margins. We chased over 200 last time out and made 185 so it was a good effort.

"It's those one or two percenters. We need one guy to go out there and make the difference."

  7. Today's match-up: Pretorius v Willey

We've picked out allrounders Dwaine Pretorius and David Willey as our key battle today.

South African Pretorius has been a rare bright spark for the Welsh Fire this tournament, regularly contributing with both bat and ball.

He's taken four wickets across his last four games and has struck scores of 29, 15 and 23 in his past three matches.

Willey could be crucial for the Superchargers tonight. He's also taken four wickets in four games and is due a big score having failed to get beyond 20 in his last three outings.

How will he fare with the ball? George Garton's left-arm swing saw success for the Southern Brave against the Fire last week. Can Willey repeat the trick?

  8. Post update

Welsh Fire captain Josh Cobb: "It is a used wicket so we are looking to bat well first up and put them under pressure second half. We were on it a week ago so we know it is used and it broke up a little bit too so hopefully it will do the same."

On how the side can secure their first win: "We are looking for people to take responsibility and put a match-winning performance in. It has been tough but things can change quickly. It is our last home game as well so hopefully we can send the crowd home happy.

"There is just one change with Tom Banton coming back in for Jacob Bethell."

  10. Team news

Welsh Fire: Tom Banton, Joe Clarke, Josh Cobb, Ben Duckett, David Miller, Leus du Plooy, Dwaine Pretorius, Matt Critchley, David Payne, Jake Ball, George Scrimshaw.

Northern Superchargers: Faf du Plessis(c), Adam Lyth, David Willey, Michael Pepper (wk), Harry Brook, Adam Hose, David Wiese, Adil Rashid, Wayne Parnell, Craig Miles, Roelof van der Merwe.

  11. Superchargers hoping to boost knockout hopes

The top three advance to the knockouts; we already know the Welsh Fire won't be there having lost all six of their matches in what's been a woeful tournament so far.

The Superchargers need to win their final two matches by huge scores and rely on a crazy set of results elsewhere to fall their way in order to reach the eliminator.

    It's probably ain't gonna happen.

    Men's Hundred table
  12. Welcome

    Tom Banton

    The cricket keeps on coming.

Earlier, in the women's Hundred a stunning collapse from Northern Superchargers allowed Welsh Fire to secure their first win of this year’s competition.

Can the winless Fire men join them and make it a delightful double as they take on out-of-form Superchargers?

The Fire have won the toss and will bat first.
