Live Reporting

Ffion Wynne and Tom Mallows

All times stated are UK

  1. Phoenix 129-9

    Need 11 runs to win

Oh, okay then! Tanveer Sangha gets down on one knee and smashes Mason Crane into the stands!

11 runs. 10 balls. One wicket.

What a finish it's turned out to be!

  2. Post update

    Henry Moeran

    BBC Radio

It's difficult to see how Birmingham Phoenix can win with one wicket left.

  3. WICKET

    Richardson b Crane 4 (Phoenix 122-9)

    Or is it?

Mason Crane has four! Richardson attempts another big shot but is completely cleaned up and with just one wicket left now, Phoenix's hopes have surely diminished.

  4. Phoenix 122-8

    Need 18 runs to win

But Kane Richardson smashes his first ball down the ground for four! It's not over yet!

  5. Post update

This is just some of the damage Matthew Wade provided.

    Enormous.

  6. Post update

    Alex Hartley

Former England bowler on BBC Radio

Eventually it does come to an end! Wade is furious with himself as he's walking off shaking his head.

  7. WICKET

    Wade c Bopara b Crane 81 (Phoenix 118-8)

    Now then!

Has that wicket sealed the win for London Spirit? Lord's stands for Matthew Wade, who smashed an absolutely stunning 81 from 42 balls.

He goes for a sweep but chips it straight to Ravi Bopara who grins with delight as he takes a simple catch.

  8. Not out

    Phoenix 116-7

    Wade survives.

    As you were.

  9. Spirit review

Spirit go upstairs for a review on Matthew Wade, who's given not out for an lbw on the field.

Neither bowler Crane or captain Morgan look particularly excited by it, but it's Wade - so it's worth a gamble.

  10. Phoenix 115-7

    Need 25 runs to win

Phoenix look set for a pretty comfortable win, but if Spirit can get Matthew Wade out here, it will be down to the last few batters and that would make it interesting.

The worm shows Birmingham Phoenix Men are 19 runs ahead of London Spirit Men. Birmingham Phoenix Men are 115 for 7 after 80 balls. At the same stage London Spirit Men were 96 for 4.
  11. Post update

    Alex Hartley

Former England bowler on BBC Radio

As long as Wade is there you should think that Birmingham Phoenix could win this game.

  12. Phoenix 113-7

    Need 27 runs to win

Down the ground, one bounce four!

Matthew Wade just keeps on going.

  13. Post update

    25 balls to go graphic
  14. Phoenix 107-7

    Need 35 runs to win

And as Phoenix surpass 103, that means Trent Rockets are the team that goes straight through to Saturday's final.

It's so confusing. My head hurts.

  15. Phoenix 101-7

    Need 39 runs to win

So Birmingham Phoenix's chances of definitely making it through and keeping their fate in their own hands is over.

But... if they do go on to win tonight, they're not completely out of it, but they are relying on a tie or a washout in the Manchester Originals v Oval Invincibles tie tomorrow.

  16. Phoenix 95-7

    Target 140

Tom Helm, who was brilliant with the ball and took four wickets, has got to support Matthew Wade here.

He's batting beautifully and just needs someone to stick with him.

  17. WICKET

    Howell c Rossington b Crane 4 (Phoenix 95-7)

A fine first shot but that's all it will be! Spirit on the charge.

The eliminators are out of reach for Birmingham Phoenix now as they still need a further 45 runs from six balls (they needed to win within 73 balls or less to definitely make it through).

But can they still inflict defeat on London Spirit? 45 from 33 balls sounds much more doable!

  18. Post update

    Daniel Norcross

    BBC Radio

A fine first shot by Howell.

  19. Phoenix 95-6

    Target 140

Benny Howell is the new batter and introduces himself with a slog sweep for four. Great shot.

  20. Post update

    Abhishek Jhunjhunwala

Former IPL batter on BBC Radio

Wade is still playing an unbelievable innings whilst everyone else has struggled.
