The England opener makes up superb ground - maybe 10-15 metres - off the boundary rope and gets both hands to the catch, but as she starts to fall the ball drops out.
She'll probably be disappointed but it was a very good effort.
Superchargers 13-2
This is turning into a brilliant start from Brave.
Anya Shrubsole spoke about them needing to improve their bowling display at the toss and her and Lauren Bell have certainly stepped up at the moment.

Litchfield c Southby b Shrubsole 0 (Superchargers 12-2)
Anya Shrubsole is rolling back the years!
It's another beauty from the former England bowler.
She finds more movement, this time away from Phoebe Litchfield, and a little edge is superbly held by Rhianna Southby.
Shrubsole has removed both of Superchargers' overseas batters.
Superchargers 12-1
Brave are creating chances.
Marie Kelly almost pops one straight up to Smriti Mandhana at mid-off. Does the India opener back out of the catch there? Possibly.
Kelly looks a bit rushed at the moment.

Rodrigues b Shrubsole 6 (Superchargers 9-1)
Beauty!
Classic Anya Shrubsole.
Movement in and it beats Jemimah Rodrigues and cannons into off stump.
A big wicket for Brave.
Not out
Oh!
It's tight, very tight.
It's one of them where we probably need a frame in between the two we are able to see.
The third umpire decides Jemimah Rodrigues has her boot down. Just.
That's a fair enough call.
Umpire review
Has Jemimah Rodrigues been stumped after some superb glovework by Rhianna Southby?
How's stat?!
ECBCopyright: ECB
We saw Southern Brave go to spin early on Friday with Chloe Tryon because of a potential weakness Hayley Matthews has.
Could they do the same today?
Marie Kelly only averages 5.83 against left-arm spin and has been dismissed six times in 38 balls.
Superchargers 5-0
A tidy start from Lauren Bell, with just five runs conceded.
There's a half appeal for lbw against Marie Kelly first ball but they opt against a review. Height an issue? I reckon so.
Post update
Time for some cricket!
England's Lauren Bell, playing for the first time in the tournament this year after an extended post-Ashes break, has the ball in hand.
Post update
Northern Superchargers captain Hollie Armitage: "I had a little bit of an idea walking over but i'm more than happy to have a bat first.
"We were clinical the other day and it ended up being quite a good run-chase and that has been boosted quite a lot of confidence.
"We'll be focussing on things we can do really well and if we can we'll hopefully put on a good show."
Post update
Southern Brave captain Anya Shrubsole: "There was a bit of rain around yesterday but it should be a good pitch again. We've just got to bowl better but we are confident chasing.
"I'm looking forward to having Lauren Bell, but Mary Taylor has been hugely impressive in the tournament and I wouldn't be surprised if we saw her again later in the tournament."
