All times stated are UK

  1. Hose dropped on 1

It's a very tough chance put down by Jonny Bairstow at point - it's probably saved four, more than a drop.

Adam Hose has a flash at a wide delivery and the ball flies off the edge towards Bairstow, who gets one hand to it but the ball bursts out as he hits the turf.

  2. Superchargers 8-2

David Willey is enjoying himself at his former ground.

He has 2-2 from 10 balls!

  3. WICKET

    Banton c Clarke b Willey 0 (Superchargers 7-2)

    David Willey has two!

Tom Banton is caught behind off a Test match-like delivery, a good length that he prods behind to the keeper.

It's a rather tortuous eight-ball duck for Banton.

  4. Superchargers 6-1

Not quite the same start for Matt Henry, who starts with five wides.

He then misses a perfect opportunity to run out Adam Lyth at the non-striker's end while fielding off his own bowling - but in fairness, he's done so well to get there and is throwing the ball from sitting down.

A very good recovery from Henry - who sends down the rest of his deliveries after the wide without conceding any more runs.

  5. Superchargers 1-1

What a start from David Willey. Just one leg bye from those five balls, and the big scalp of Matthew Short.

Tom Banton is in at three for the Superchargers.

  6. WICKET

    Short c & b Willey 0 (Superchargers 1-1)

David Willey gets the perfect start for Welsh Fire!

Matthew Short gets a thick edge on to his pad and the ball plops up in the air. Willey athletically charges forward and dives to take the catch with the ball just above the ground.

  7. Post update

Superchargers openers Matthew Short and Adam Lyth make their way to the middle.

David Willey, who is used to playing at Headingley having previously represented Yorkshire and the Superchargers, is going to start things for Fire with the ball.

  8. The Teams

Northern Superchargers: Adam Lyth, Matthew Short, Tom Banton (wk), Harry Brook, Adam Hose, David Wiese (capt), Brydon Carse, Matthew Potts, Adil Rashid, Callum Parkinson, Reece Topley.

Welsh Fire: Jonny Bairstow, Stephen Eskinazi, Joe Clarke (wk), Luke Wells, Glenn Phillips, Tom Abell (capt), David Willey, Roelof van der Merwe, Matt Henry, David Payne, Lockie Ferguson.

  9. Post update

Welsh Fire captain Tom Abell on Sky Sports: "We would have batted too, but I'm not too unhappy. We have previously done pretty well bowling first.

"It's a massive game but we've not really spoken about what we need and what other results we need We've just got to play our best game and win to give ourselves a chance.

"It was so pleasing to get a win at home. Different players have stepped up at different times and that has been really promising for us."

  10. Post update

Northern Superchargers captain David Wiese on Sky Sports: "We've done well setting a total and defending so we are happy to do that again. Looking at the permutations that we need to qualify, getting runs on the board will probably give us the best chance.

"We just need to keep trusting our process and hope it works out for us. We are looking forward to entertaining our home crowd one more time today.

"Matthew Potts comes in for Wayne Parnell."

  11. Northern Superchargers win the toss and bat

David Wiese is in as skipper for Northern Superchargers in place of Wayne Parnell, and he wins the toss and chooses to have a bat first.

It was the winning formula for the women earlier and it looks like a good pitch for it.

  12. Post update

The top three in the women's competition has already been decided but it's still pretty open in the men's, with only Oval Invincibles sealing a knockout place so far.

It's simple for both Fire and Superchargers today: just win, and hope that other results can help them out.

  13. Post update

    Welcome back!

Northern Superchargers' women have just completed one victory over Welsh Fire. Can they make it a double or can Fire keep their qualification hopes alive in the men's competition?

We'll have news from the toss and teams for you shortly.
