  1. Spirit hold Firepublished at 40 balls

    Fire 67-0

Spirit stem the tide to some degree as Sarah Glenn holds Fire to four singles.

Beaumont reverses Amelia Kerr to send the ball through to the boundary, but it's just five off Kerr's set.

  2. Originals 106-2published at 67 balls

Jos Buttler might be holding himself back a little for the end but Paul Walkter is doing no such thing.

He aims an almighty swing leg-side, gets a thick edge and the ball loops over short third for four.

  3. 100 runs

    Originals 100-2published at 65 balls

Jos Buttler has been starved of the strike for a little while and when he has faced, has looked to push singles.

You'd imagine he's just making sure he's there for the big push at the end of the innings.

  4. Desperate review from Spiritpublished at 30 balls

    Fire 58-0

Tammy Beaumont and Sophia Dunkley exchange fours, as Fire reach 53 at the end of the powerplay - the highest ever score at this stage in the women's competition.

Amelia Kerr sends down the first boundary-less set of the match and her final ball strikes Beaumont on the pad. After much deliberation Heather Knight asks the third umpire to take a look.

It's frankly a bit silly, Beaumont's stride has taken her so far down the pitch, she's almost stood on the umpire's toes. The ball tracking has it not out on all three metrics.

Spirit need a breakthrough but that wasn't going to be it.

  5. Originals 95-2published at 60 balls

Short, wide and cut away behind square for four by Paul Walter!

These are all bonus runs for him because UltraEdge shows that what we thought was a play and miss to end the last set was no such thing.

Walter feathered it behind but there was no appeal, no review, no nothing. A stroke of luck for Walter.

  6. 6 runs

    Originals 91-2published at 58 balls

After two more dot balls, Paul Walter finally connects with one.

It's not a clean connection but his top-edged pull shot off David Wiese sails over the way over the rope for six!

  7. Originals 85-2published at 55 balls

The evidence so far is that spin is the way to go on this pitch and Matthew Short is the latest spinner into the attack for Superchargers.

The Australian concedes just three singles from the set as Paul Walter fails to connect with a big shot aimed leg side from the fifth delivery.

Paul Walter is the slightly surprising choice to come in at four for the Originals. He joins Jos Buttler.

Halfway through the innings and Originals are still going along nicely despite those two quick wickets.

  9. Fire's strong start continuespublished at 20 balls

    Fire 42-0

Sophia Dunkley has got in on the action as Welsh Fire continue their strong start in Cardiff.

She's punished the London Spirit bowlers, hitting three fours and hurrying through for a fast three.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 47 balls

    Evans c Wiese b C Parkinson 7 (Originals 80-2)

Laurie Evans is dropped first ball of the set but holes one to the second!

The Originals batted clubbed the first down the ground and Wayne Parnell dropped it over the rope as he jumped to avoid the boundary cushion.

However, Evans goes again next ball and offers a far simpler chance to David Wiese at long off.

  11. Originals 74-1published at 45 balls

Laurie Evans is the new batter and struggles to get to grips with Adil Rashid, taking a single second ball after a mistimed shot.

Jos Buttler times the ball that much better to end the set, drilling it along the ground to long off for one.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 42 balls

    Salt c Wiese b Rashid 28 (Originals 72-1)

    There's the wicket Superchargers needed!

Adil Rashid really slowed it down there and made Phil Salt create the pace on the ball.

Salt tried his best to do that but got the timing all wrong and skies the ball to long off.

David Wiese was never dropping that.

  13. Originals 71-0published at 40 balls

Wayne Parnell keeps Phil Salt and Jos Buttler to ones and twos for the remainder of the set but that six means it's 11 from it in total.

Superchargers are in need of a wicket. The sooner the better for them.

  14. 6 runs

    Originals 69-0published at 38 balls

Phil Salt shows his power by muscling the ball all the way over extra cover for six!

The ball lands on the boundary sponge as the Originals openers continue to pile on the runs.

  15. Beaumont fires earlypublished at 10 balls

    Fire 22-0

A spectacular start from Tammy Beaumont, dominating the strike and crashing Danni Gibson and Sarah Glenn for five fours from the first ten balls.

Sophia Dunkley has faced a single ball, running through an opening ball wide to put Beaumont on strike.

  16. Originals 60-0published at 35 balls

    Salt 21, Buttler 31

A single to end a good set from Adil Rashid but he'll know it should have had a wicket in it as well.

That's a dolly. Parnell could have caught that in his mouth.

  19. dropped catch

Salt dropped on 18published at 34 balls

    Originals 59-0

Tossed up by Adil Rashid, Phil Salt tries to smash it over cover but nails it straight to Wayne Parnell.

The ball is travelling but Parnell didn't have to move. He really should have caught it.

  20. Originals 53-0published at 30 balls

Phil Salt tries another pull shot next ball but this one beats him for pace and the ball just runs to point for single.
